Axel's POV- (surprise!)

I stir around in our bed smiling at the thought of Katherine I move over to wrap her in my arms but her side of the bed is empty my eyes open I slowly get out of bed still groggily I don't hear the water running maybe she was changing I knock on the door hearing no response I open the door she isn't there.

I walk down the stairs getting a few greetings here and there. I walk to the kitchen not seeing Katherine anywhere I walk to my office she isn't anywhere around the castle I start to panic I mindlink everyone to meet me downstairs.

Once I see all the packmembers crowded together. "Has anyone seen my mate?"

Everyone is looking around confused before Mike speaks up "My dear Alpha may I ask why?"

"It seems clear to me that my mate is somewhere she isn't around the house and her scent is very weak." I feel my chest aching for her touch, for her smell without her here it was hard comprehending with what was really happening.

"No Alpha we have not seen her." I let out a feral growl. "Everyone your all dismissed." I mindlink Nikolas to meet me in my office. Half way up the stairs Jessica stops me in my tracks.

"Axel I heard your argument with Katherine last night." She glares daggers at me.

"I'm your Alpha you will show me respect." Jessica scoffs.

"Come on brother drop the act. I heard Katherine saying she was going to run because of you blaming this upcoming war on her." She roughly points a finger on my chest. "Your going to find her were both going to and once you get her back I want you to apoligize to her." She looks at me with anger.

"Jessica okay but I need to really talk to Nikolas about this and where she has gone to." I walk up another flight of stairs, man I really need an elevator.

When I get to my office Nikolas is already there in my office looking deep in thought. "Hey man thanks for coming up here."

He snaps out of his trance "Uh oh yeah um so Katherine why did she run?"

I guilt rush over me. "I basically blamed this upcoming war on her."

Nikolas chuckles which makes me growl a little how could he be laughing when this is serious? "

"How do you know she ran?" I stare at his blank face while he has a certain emotion running in his eyes.

"Oh Axel you know your castle may be big but the walls are very thin even the people downstairs heard your argument." Shit.

"So everyone knows I'm the reason why Katherine ran?"

"Well Axel your wrong there, not everyone knows they were out running or sleeping."

"What if she didn't run? What if she got kidnapped?" So many possibilities were running through my head all this mate stuff was fucking up my brain and Katherine running was not helping.

"Well if she did get kidnapped why don't you call other packs? I mean if she ran she must have crossed another territory already call other packs." I thought about Nikolas's plan it wasn't all that bad.

I nodded picking up the phone dialing phone numbers in. After about 8 phone calls and Nikolas still sitting across my desk still. "All the Alpha's said they'll keep an eye out and won't bring any harm to her."

"That's good." Nikolas muttered.

I let out a frustrated sigh I couldn't take it anymore how can I sleep through the night without Katherine? She was basically my everything it's been only a month knowing her and I was already in love with her, yes in love!

I glanced at Nikolas. Jessica was his mate, but they weren't together yet he marked her I remember it all.

Axel's flashback.

"Axel!" Jessica screams barging into my office.

I quickly stand up seeing blood seep through my sisters hand over he neck.

"What the hell happened Jessica?"

"He marked me! He fucking marked me without my permission and after I rejected him he barges into my room holding me against my will and marks me!" She's angry I can tell her eyes were a dark black color her wolf was at surface and if I didn't calm her down she would kill anything in her way.

"Jessica why did you reject him?"

She's pacing around in my office breathing out heavily and in obviously trying to calm her wolf down.

"I smelt something so intoxicating I run up the stairs to stop in front of his door Axel you know I hate his guts and I knock on his door and I hear him growling and he said that he was in action and when he opened the door I saw a slut behind him and he was half naked and all I saw was regret in his eyes but I didn't care I hated him since I met him and I will continue hating him."

I felt bad for Jessica I knew she hated Nikolas I should feel mad at him I should kick him out of the pack but for some reason I wasn't he was beta also my bestfriend the one who was always there for me when my parents died and when I was going to get the Alpha position.

"Jessica I'll have a talk with him I'm so sorry this happened to you."

I pull her into a hug and feel her nod against my chest before walking out with her hand still on her neck.

I was shocked I shouldn't be because Jessica already told me but the fact that Nikolas actually wanted her was a surprised they both despised eachother they couldn't be in the same room or else they'll rip each other's hearts out. But he didn't quite answer my question.

"But how do you live on with her having your mark on her neck and you know you can't have her?"

"It's hard but feel her slowly trusting me again and somehow her wolf has made love to my wolf already that's whats keeping me and her sane if not I think I wouldn't be here at all."

I pat Nikolas on the back feeling bad for him the feeling sucked and it was hell I didn't like knowing that Katherine wasn't gonna be by my side tonight. "Nikolas tomorrow I'm gonna go find Katherine will you come with me?"

"Yeah sure anything do you want me to go get some warriors to come with us?" I nodded liking that he cared about our safety. Once he was out I started doing some papers I looked at the clock to see it was almost midnight.

I walked back to my room silently and I found Jessica on my bed waiting for me.

"Finally Axel so what is the plan for tomorrow." I decided that I wasn't going to tell her about Nikolas coming along because I knew she would back out I cared for my sister's safety but I needed someone there for Katherine once we did get her back.

Well were taking a few warriors with us tomorrow and were just gonna run until I guess we could pick up her scent and hoping that we won't run into another Alpha's territory. Jessica nodded walking out my room saying good night

I took a shower letting the heat of the water relax my muscles I slipped on a pair of simple boxers jumping into bed how the hell was I gonna sleep with Katherine gone and it was hard to, her scent was all over the right side and her body fitting perfectly with mines was gone I missed her so much. But I was going to get her no matter what the cost

So guys that's an inside look of what's going on in Axel's head. I'm sorry it was short and I was actually not going to update today but seeing the growth motivated me so there you go! I will give a longer chapter tomorrow! Xxx
