P R E F A C E -

I couldn't stop shaking. I sat down on my knees with a gun in my hand, and my pleading father beneath me. I looked up through blurry tears, seeing a beautiful sunset. The sun was setting under the hills, the sky mixed with lavender, pink and a dark orange. Some clouds were scattered around the sky, making it look like an oil painting.

It was unbelieveable. How something so beautiful can have something horrible taking place inside of it. "Please, Jade. Do this for me. You're a brave girl, and you'll get along with your brothers fine." There were tears in my fathers eyes as he pleaded for me to kill him.

There was a huge bite mark on his arm. Those things did it- they call those things Walkers. Zombies. Devil spawns. I knew soon enough if I didn't shoot my father, he'd become one of them. How could I, though? Kill my own blood. Kill someone who meant so much to me. I had to do this, I thought. I had to do this for him.

"I love you Jade.." My father whispered as he patted down my long, brunette hair.

"I love you too, Papa."

I took a deep breath before I pointed the gun to his forehead and shot him.
