"FALLING FOR THE FORBIDDEN"

Ch.1

"Man, that is a lot of golf balls that will need to be picked up," the news reporter said, chuckling. "Now to more important news, Marco Venerro is wanted for another suspected homicide. Lucy Williams has more on the story."

The news reporter disappeared on the TV screen only to be replaced with a young blonde Lucy Williams less than a second later. "Thank you, Robert," she nodded solemnly, although I could just see 'Robert' drooling from the bar in my kitchen. "I am down here on Interstate 40 where it is to be believed that the notorious drug-dealer/murderer Marco Venerro has struck again. All signs and details of Marco's work shows on the body of the unidentified person found dumped on the side of the road next to the garter rail. Police have not yet found out if this is really Marco himself working or if this is his men doing his dirty work. Police also have yet to find any suspect or weapon, so if you see this man, you are advised to keep your distance and call 911 immediately as he is considered to be armed and very, very dangerous."

Once again, the scene changed with a sketch of a man following it, while Lucy carried on with more horrific details that I just did not want to hear. The wanted man looked like he had experience in the field of murdering people and drug-dealing. Though, the sketch showed a guy looking like an average businessman, his eyes had a menacing sparkle to them that sent a shiver up your spine every time you gazed into them. That drawing artist must have been very good, I thought as I cringed away from the photograph.

Not wanting to get freaked out by the criminal on the loose and also making a last ditch effort to savor this moment, I tuned it all out by paying extra attention to my soggy Cheerios in front of me.

Why savor this moment, you ask? Because this is the last moment I have before I have to go to school. Not just any school; a new school. Oh, yeah, it's not August where everybody's first day is today, it's October, making me the "new new" girl. And it's all because of my stupid dad. My stupid dad just had to get a stupid new job at stupid Vanderbuilt, one of the top hospitals in the world, and make me and my mom move all the way from California to down here in Tennessee. So, of course, that meant I had to transfer schools on my junior year. I sighed. Life is a bitch, I thought.

"Scar, if you don't hurry up, you're gonna to be late," my mom informed me as she walked into the kitchen. She reached the place where Jelly, my cat, was sprawled out, not in his cat house, but in the middle of the couch, snoozing. I could hear him start to purr when she scratched him from 10feet away.

"Oh, and, let Biscuit outside, when you get up," my mom said as her Dalmation pranced, and I do mean pranced, his way into the kitchen too.

"C'mon, Biscuit. Let's go outside," I groaned to the happy-for-no-reason dog. Lazily, I slid off my chair at the bar we had in the kitchen and sulked my way to the backdoor, letting him go do his business. I closed the door and moped upstairs to brush my teeth. After brushing my teeth, I started to head out, but not before I checked myself in the mirror one last time.

"Hey, Jel," I said sweetly, seeing my little fur ball approach me from behind in the mirror. He purred, right on time. I studied the things I occasionally liked about my body to try and build my confidence as much as possible. I first noticed how my super long beach- inspired waves of red hair outlined my oval shaped face and balanced out my olive skin tone. I acknowledged the way my emerald green eyes and soft pink lips stood out on my face. I studied the way my white v-neck t-shirt and jeans complimented my curves, hugging them.
