Contemplating: an author's note

I'm sorry for staying silent about it in a year.

I know, you all love it. And I am truly happy and grateful that you appreciate this piece and thank you so much @Deathly_Hallow for the reminder.

I want to work on this fic, I really do. I like interactions between Kaneki and the Golden Trio. But I can't sugarcoat it, so I have to break it just directly and bluntly.

I really doubt whether it can continue.

1) I don't linger in HP fandom as much. Likewise for TG, my interest in Kaneki is rather diverted.
2) I tend to cycle ideas in my head rather than executing them.
3) My time on social media has decreased.
4) Fixing this fanfic.

So on 1. I don't really call myself as a Harry Potter fan anymore. Because first, I can't like the books and franchise as much as past, to be frank. The books aren't entirely flawless, and I did see some posts calling out problematism. And secondly, I don't recall much details on what happened in books and the school system. "Why not re-read?" I don't have the heart to. Besides, I am fixing my procrastination during this summer and I have more books to read. I can still remember those weird but wonderful stuffs in HP-verse, and I felt I've outgrown them.

On Tokyo Ghoul, I found out the motivation resides within the Tsukiyamas now rather than Kaneki. Back then I liked Ken's badassery, but I have invested (what a pun*) interest on the Tsukiyamas, especially the minor ones like Matsumae, Mirumo, and so on. The lack of information on them makes themselves pretty intriguing, despite themselves being minor characters.

*it's a pun because the Tsukiyamas are very connected to business hence their companies and mighty finance

In short, feelings have changed. Admittedly, the spark of passion is dimmer.

On 2. We know what these memes say: we would rather think these ideas and just play them in our heads, never writing them down. I have to admit I am a lazy person. I have drafts for this, I love some scenes I am going to write down, but I am terrible at time managing. I'm really sorry for not living up to your expectations. I hope I will fix this in the future.

Which I will have to since my grade level goes up in the next year (point 3). It's high school. And sooner or later I will manage more assignments and homework. I will have to focus more on academic life rather than this. What I plan to do with this is what point 4 is: drafting, writing in another spare document. A bit of behind the scenes: I intended plot twists for this fanfic and still have some ambitions to make some sense in this story. Whether that part is included or not, with the school and stuffs, I don't think if I can make any progress with the fic. And I am apologetic for that. I really am.

So if you think the answer to continuing this fic is No, you are right.

So the upside is: what I am going to do is releasing all the drafts in here for a peak into my progress. I will edit this book in the future. I've been thinking about this work and am really fond of the idea of Ken joining Hogwarts. So a very, very huge thank you for storing this book and voting it. I have never thought it would be noticed so much, so thank you so much. I am sorry for keeping you waiting and thinking for a year without mentioning it.
