BOOK TWO TEASER CHAPTER! Here is a small glimpse into the next book in the Sons Of War series! I'm still working on getting everything in order, so it will be a while yet before I start posting chapters, but I thought you might like this little preview!

Her eyes seemed to be glowing brighter than the moon that was silhouetted behind her. Those hard yellow orbs looked at you intently as Ginger sat still as a statue on the windowsill. The soft summer breeze ruffled her ginger fur, but she didn't move an inch. Andy's arm was tossed loosely over your waist, and he was sleeping soundly, as anyone should at that hour of the night.
Sleep continued to elude you. You had these strange premonitions in your gut. You hadn't had a foreboding so strong in a very long time now; it made you very uneasy.
After another long hour of being unable to ease into unconsciousness, you gave up, and skimmed slowly and carefully out of Andy's loose embrace. The warm covers fell away from your naked body and you stood up, going over to Ginger, who was still seated on the windowsill. You looked out into the silvery night as you had done many times when the Gods were intent on not letting you rest. Nothing was amiss across the peaceful lawn, yet you felt something brewing. Something just out of sight, hiding in the shadows. Metaphorically, of course. You didn't suspect something was literally hiding in shadows, waiting to attack a house full of angels.
You pet Ginger's soft head, and she purred softly at your touch, never looking at you. You looked behind, following the feline's gaze to the bed. Andy's countenance was relaxed and soft. He was always a pretty sleeper, but right now he seemed especially angelic; his skin pale, illuminated in the light of the full moon, his pretty black hair framing his face, his eyes shut with his long eyelashes creating a slight shadow across his eyelids. He reached out in his sleep, feeling around for you. Once his subconscious endeavor proved fruitless, his eyes fluttered open and he looked around himself in mild confusion. His seeking stare landed on you a moment later, and he looked distractedly at your dark outline for a moment.
"Are you alright, Y/n?" He asked quietly, sitting upright.
'Yes," you replied, your voice hardly anything above a whisper. "I just can't sleep."
"Come here," he said softly, gesturing for you. You walked back to the bed and climbed up next to him, wrapping on arm around his torso and resting your head against his chest. He eased back down into a position on his back, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and kissing your temple.
"Anything bothering you in particular?" He asked calmly, playing with your hair. You shook your head, suddenly sleepy. He kissed your lips gently, pulling the blanket up around you both a little higher. Even as you dosed off, you were still keenly aware that something was not right . . .

Hola, my lovelies!!! Welcome to book two! Not actually sure if this counts as a prologue, but I wanted it as its own separate beginning, so if it's not your standard prologue, we'll just call it the intro or a very short first chapter  😄 And guys. . . I am so proud of this cover!!! What do you think??!!?! :DDD
