I collimate my sight as I close it.
Jacob wasn’t supposed to be one of us. I mean he’s okay but it makes me uncomfortable that a boy is with us. I don’t say I hate boys, but I just don’t usually talk with them, maybe because Dad is always away and I don’t have a brother.
“Traffic ugh.” Aly complained as she studied the map
“We should consult Mr. Pete first before we travel, I’m pretty sure this place isn’t Nevada.” I complained.
They nodded except Jacob.
“We can’t take Jacob with us because Mr. Pete said, we can’t trust anyone with our-“ I said.
“We’ll leave him in the car.” Katherine replied.
“We can’t conceal him, well, let’s just see what will happen.”
Seeing nothing and hearing only the rush of vehicles on the cliffs beyond the road is really boring. I don’t like thinking things too much because I haven’t slept for a couple of weeks and that’s surprisingly bad. So, I closed my eyes as Jacob tried to struggle to catch Aly’s attention.
I furious sound of a motorcycle caught my attention to open my eyes
My motorcycle. I left it at Boston.
It shouldn’t be there, I thought frantically. I looked down to my denim overall, I tried to speak and figure out that my appeal would be valid. We can’t go back again, because we’ll be caught. But if Dad finds out my motorcycle was gone, he’d ask soon. I’m sure he wouldn’t like that.
“Katherine, hold the brakes, I’m going out.”
“Where are you going?”
“My motorcycle, I can’t leave it in Boston.”
"That's too far. Take a bus or something"
"I know, I promise I'll catch up at Nevada."
I opened the door and immediately walk on the lane.
Not yet spring but it seemed to me that the sun was shining almost every day, and my life was running roughly than before. I finally reached the airport. I waited, I spent rest of the afternoon at that switch board trying to ignore the air of dislike. Luckily, nobody mattered to talk to me, I was afraid to everybody, especially when they ask privately. I fall in line to buy my tickets and sit for an hour. Everybody started to stand and pack up their things at least a quarter of an hour earlier and went inside the plane.
"Tickets please."
I handed the boy the ticket without any words.
Please don't look at the stamp, oh please it's fake. I tried not to make any unecessary movements
He gestured me to come in.
"Wait MIss!"
My nerves started to break into pieces.
I turned around.
"Oh, you forgot your luggage."
I picked it up as I smiled to him
Fooled.
It was so hot inside, policemen roamed around to check some suspicious goodies together with their canine units.
