I sat my apartment with a box of tissues and a tall glass of wine on the table beside me. It was my 23rd birthday and my first time celebrating alone in a long time. I had just gotten off of a Skype call with my mum. Our call started off with lovely birthday greetings from her and dad but slowly slid into my mum's spiel about her wanting me to come back to Wiltshire to stay with them since there was no longer any reason for me to be in Seoul.

You may be wondering, why was I so depressed and so alone on my 23rd birthday. Well, a week prior to my birthday, my asshole of an ex-boyfriend decided that he would break up with me. God knows what his reason was, we'd been dating for almost five years too. He was the reason I moved halfway across the globe.

Suddenly, in the middle of my melancholic moment, my phone rang. "Elizabeth Porter, put down that wine glass." I heard her voice say before I could even say, 'hello'.

"Hey Alex." I replied. "How'd you know I was drinking wine?"

"I'm your best friend, I know how you are when you get depressed." She explained. "But this isn't why I called you."

"Why did you call me?"

"Hello? It's your friggin 23rd birthday, you're not supposed to be sulking around in your apartment alone." She told me. "Now go to your closet and put on that sexy black dress we picked up a couple of weeks ago. Wash your hair and do your makeup."

"I'm too lazyyy~~" I whined.

"Shut up and do as I say. Now, I'll be there in an hour so you better be ready."

Once Alex arrived, we headed out to a party in Cheongdam that she was invited to. The venue was a really nice club/lounge called D-Bridge. As soon as we sat down at one of the tables, Alex got whisked away onto the dancefloor by one of her guy friends and I was left alone. I was about to order some red wine but then I thought, what the heck, might as well go for soju. A few bottles later, I was already a bit light-headed. Alex was still dancing, but with a different guy. "Alcohol is the only friend I need." I moaned at the green bottle.

"Tell me about it." The guy from the table beside ours said. From the amount of soju bottles on the table in front of him, it looked like we were an even match. And I wasn't sure if it was because I was tipsy, but he was really good-looking.

"Well, Mr. Stranger." I told him. "Nothing's worse than getting dumped after spending five years together. After giving up all I had back home, that asshole had the audacity to dump me."

The guy got up from his seat and sat down beside me. "I think I know something that can ease the pain." He whispered in my ear.

Before I knew it, we were back at my apartment. He had me pushed up against my bedroom door as he crashed his lips into mine. I quickly unbuttoned his shirt before he unzipped the back of my dress and let it fall to the floor. He then proceeded to lift me up onto the bed and well.. I'll let you guess what happened next.

The next morning, I woke up alone in bed with a really bad headache. I just had my first one night stand with a complete stranger.
