I asked, softly
But you couldn't tell
Your response,
"Nobody"
I felt a knife crash through my heart
But you couldn't tell at all
"Interesting..."
I laughed, you laughed
"Well I may like this one girl"
I sighed
"Do I know her?"
You thought for a moment,
"I think so?"
"Well, everyone hates me so who knows?"
"Are you interested in anyone?"
You quietly asked,
I nodded,
"I could possibly have a guy on my mind"
I tried smiling, it wasn't working
"He probably isn't interested in me"
You frowned,
"Is it possibly that I know him?"
"Mmhmm, pretty well"
"Well, that's a bummer"
You laughed, your eyes squinting as you held your stomach
I stared
"Do you love him?
Your eyes searched for an answer from me, I didn't love you
It was a rule, don't fall in love
"It wasn't something I've ever thought about"
You nod, fixing your glasses once more
"What's her last name?"
"Like I am going to tell you that"
I laughed, my last name was too easy
"Okay, how about a guessing game?" I smirked
"How so?"
"What letters are in her last name"
"W, L and S"
"I'm so much closer to finding out"
"You can?"
You sounded petrified
"Oh goodness take a joke, I don't"
If I could get a tattoo on my forehead, I'd out 'idiot'
"What letters are in his last name?"
You could do the same thing
"An A and an E"
I kept at my writing, looking straight down, hiding my face
"This is harder than I thought"
"If only this game came with a manual"
"Just a guess, but could it be me you fancy?"
I laughed
"I feel as if this game is against me"

"I fancy you from a far, but I can remain close now"
He smiled straight at me
