green

the color green, the sweet kind that smelled like grass, always reminded me of the park.

 

our park.

 

i remember going there nearly every single day, with you.

 

we’d lay on the green grass, watching the clouds above.

 

every once in a while, there’d be a kid flying a kite, that had always made you smile.

 

i love your smile.

 

so, today, i drew a kite.

 

the sharp angles formed together, and i almost smiled at the memory.

 

but, i was too busy holding back tears.

 

i drew the kite in all green.
