I stood frozen in the deserted street. The voice grew louder. I couldn’t understand the foreign raspy voice nor identify its strange familiarity. It hissed and snarled evilly, sending the icy, repulsive hands of fear to tickle the hairs on the back of my neck. The gusts of wind that swept the street created a scraping sound as the leaves were blown in a turmoil above the pavement. Then, the leaves began to piece together, unwillingly with the frightening voice, to form the shape of a person. As the silhouette drew nearer, I began to grow weak. I coughed and choked and was soon in surrender on the ground; my invisible attacker tightening its deathly grip around my throat. As I quit struggling and gave into the succumbing death, the world began to grow dim. I grew weaker as the leaves continued to piece themselves together. As my world grew dimmer, the raspy voice only got stronger…
