Chapter 10; the kiss

Lauren's POV

I walked into school happily.

Until I saw who was waiting for me at my locker.

Ashley.

"So I hear you're dating Justin now, huh?"

"Yes I am Ashley. Does that involve you? No. It doesn't. Shut the fuck up and get away from me."

"Oh so you're playing tough girl I see. Well cut the bullshit. Because I'm going to get justin one way or another. Enjoy your time with him while it lasts."

"Whatever"

She's not going to get him.

School was okay today until I arrived into my sixth period class.

Jared was waiting at my desk for me.

"Hey.."

"Um, hi"

"Look, ever since we made out at that party I can't get you off my mind. I know we were drunk but still."

"Well that sucks, doesn't it? Because you decided to cheat on me with a whore. You should've thought about when I would find out"

"I wasn't thinking straight. I don't even like her. And I barely liked her when I.. You know...cheated on y-you..."

"Whatever you say, Jared"

"Please Lauren. Can we maybe get some coffee after school or something? I really need to talk to you.."

"Okay. Whatever. Pick me up at six"

"Thank you so much. You won't regret this"

"Yeah"

But I will.

I completely forgot about justin.

Am I still in love with Jared? Yes.

Do I love justin? I don't even know.

Do I have feelings for Justin? Yes.

My life just got a million times more confusing.

Five thirty rolled around and I was feeling nervous.

A part of me doesn't even want to go, but a part of me wants to work things out with Jared and make it work.

But what about justin?

He's a nice guy and I don't want to hurt him. Speaking of Justin, he texted me.

Justin: hey, what are you doing tonight, gorgeous? :)

Lauren: I'm helping my mom with something.

Justin: oh ok. I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out or something. But have fun babe! Call me later?

Lauren: I'll try to have fun. And I will, promise!

Justin: you better :) talk to you tonight beautiful

Ugh I hate lying to him.

"I'm so sorry Lauren. I've been thinking about things and I wasn't thinking when I made the stupidest mistake of my life"

"Yeah okay. How do I know this isn't a part of one of Ashley's plans to 'ruin' me?"

"Because if it was would I do this"

Before I could process what was happening, he kissed me.

I reluctantly kissed back.

Justin's POV

Since Lauren can't hang out, I might as well get some coffee.

But I really wish I hadn't because when I walked in two people in particular caught my eye.

Sitting in the booth in the corner was Lauren.

And jared.

Kissing.

What the fuck?

Lauren's POV

This kiss is amazing.

I don't want it to end. But a part of me knows this is the last time I will feel Jared's lips on mine.

I quickly broke the kiss.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have kissed you. Please don't be angry."

"I'm not angry. I kissed back for gods sake. Thank you Jared."

"No, thank you. So what does this mean we are?"

"We're taking things...slow"
