I liked you before you were cool.
Back when you weren't so popular
Back when you hadn't
Plastered a thick wall of fake
Around yourself to hide the real you.
I liked you before you were cool.
Back when you were just like me
Back when no one
Batted an eye over you
You weren't seen as 'special'
I guess that's why you changed.
I liked you before you were cool.
Back when you were real
Back when you used to talk
To me, and everyone else who
Actually cares about you
Not with superficial emotions
I liked you- maybe even loved you before you were cool.
Before you got caught up in
Having tons of fake friends
Instead of one real one
Before the temptation to be accepted
Overcame what we used to have
Before you were cool.
