Timid Training

It had been a couple days sense everyone had returned and we were all just now settling back into the guild. The whole incident at Tenrou island had only came to an end days ago when we all returned to the guild safe and sound.

I had been there as well, sense I was competing to become an S-class wizard. Yes, I am a pretty powerful wizard, one of the strongest to be honest. My lighting magic could take out an entire guild, but there was one problem. I am extremely shy, extremely almost seems like you're putting it lightly.

I barley talked to anyone in the guild other then a few persistent people that continue to try having conversations with me. Pretty much all of team Natsu along with a couple other guild mates, although they usually didn't get very far I manage to get pretty close with Erza and Gray, being the calm and collected people they are it was easy to talk to them.

As much as I tried to be more open and outgoing it just never worked. I've been like this for as long as I can remember, always doing things on my own and avoiding people so I wouldn't have to talk to them. But now I'm part of a guild, thanks to Makorov finding me wandering around Fiore one day many years ago.

He's always had so much faith in me, telling me I was going to become one of the greatest wizards out there, as long as I gained more confidence. He even had me hang out with his grandson occasionally, trying to help me make a friend and hopefully become more social. But it never worked.

Laxus always got fed up with me never answering or putting any input into our games. He eventually stopped trying and we stopped hanging out all together. To this day I still remember his hurtful words like he had just said them yesterday.

"What's your problem (Y/N), why can't you just act like a normal person?! If your not going to talk to me then I'm not going to talk to you anymore either!"

Although we were only kids those were the most horrible words I'd ever heard someone say to me. The truth is I did want to talk to Laxus, I liked hanging out with him unlike any of the other kids that had previously tried. But I had developed a crush on him, making it almost impossible for me to say a single word to him. That cost me our friendship, and I still regret it everyday.

Romeo and the others that had been left behind at the guild had told us about the Grand Magic Games. Games that they held every year for all guilds to compete for the title of number 1.

Being the outgoing and competitive guild we are everyone wanted to participate, but because of all the lost training time we have to work twice as hard and train every day until the games. I wanted no part in this, competing in front of so many people scared the hell out of me, but the master insisted that I participate and I wasn't going to argue with him.

Today was our first day of training and most people headed to the beach, others to the mountains and so on. I on the other hand was about to leave the guild to train on my own in the woods but I was stopped by a hand on my shoulder. I turned around startled and my eyes widened when I saw that it was Laxus himself that had stopped me.
