I bleed when I fall down
I'm only human
And I crash and I break down

This dream, dream is a killer~Mad Hatter~Melanie Martinez"Do you have any idea how much danger you put yourself in?" Chris Argent slammed his hand down on his desk. Cody jumped.
"The only danger there was Kate!" snapped Cody.
"She was protecting you. She was protecting us!" Her dad pinched the bridge of his nose like he always did when he was irritated.
Cody slammed her hand down on the table exactly where he father's had been a moment ago.
"Chris," Kate said from the corner of the office. "She's a kid, she doesn't understand. She thinks he's cute-"
Cody rounded on her. "Shut up! You cut his sister in half to lure him out!" Kate remained expressionless. "You're disgusting! You say he's a monster, but he hasn't hurt anyone! You kill people! To me, that qualifies as a monster."
"Cody," her dad demanded her attention. "I don't expect you to understand everything right now." She opened her mouth to protest but he held his hand up to silence her. "You'll learn and understand the more you grow up."
"So sadistic tendencies come with age?"
Chris frowned at her. "You won't see him, ever again. Do you understand me?" Cody looked down at her shoes. "Do you understand?" She nodded. "You're grounded for a month."
"A month?"
"Yes," he said forcefully. "You go to school, you go to track, you come. No going out, no hanging out with friends."
"Not even Stiles?" she said, frowning.
"Especially Stiles! That kid..." He shook his head. "He's trouble."
Cody let out an exasperated sigh that was really half a shout. She slammed the door of the office so hard the pictures on the wall shook.

Cody had been strategically avoiding everyone in her house for two days. This afternoon was no different. She trudged through the front door, her sweaty track clothes clinging to her, and stomped up the stairs. She was exhausted. Her nightmares were only getting worse and her sleep schedule was wrecked. She shut and locked her bedroom door and threw her bag down by her desk. She had enough energy to change into a bagging pair of sweatpants, which she realized with dismay were Stiles, and a t-shirt. She collapsed onto her bed, her eyes heavy and limbs aching. She thought about her homework, deciding she would do it later, or fail, before she drifted off.
