In writing a story, you need a plot, a concept or a idea on what and how your story outcome will be like.
Will it be a story about a girl who fell in love with a boy or vice versa? A bad boy - good girl story? Romance? Mystery? Thriller? Fan ficiton? Historical romance?
There's so many genre in writing a story. Here in Wattpad there's an approximate 20 genre/categories in writing a story.
But the question is, how would you like to make your story?
Before start composing your story, you should choose a specific genre.
Always try to remember this question: On what category my story will fall for?
Genre in writing story is important because choosing genre will also dictate/lead to what type of readers you're aiming to inspire.
Will it be the teens? Adults? Or everyone?
In writing story here in Wattpad, make sure that the categories you choose for your story are appropriate to the genre of your story so there will be no confusion and negative feedbacks on your story.
