Title is one of the very important factor (for me) when it comes to writing a story.
As for my tip on this, your story should be "attention getter".
As to my personal experience, when I am reading a story here in Wattpad, one of the things that caught my attention is the title of the story.
Make sure that your title is "one of a kind", "unique", "extraordinary" and other synoynm that comes with that.
Be creative when choosing a title of your story. Do not limit your imagination. But, do not exaggerate your title as well. Exageration is a no - no in writing. Always try remember that.
The title should be short. Some might get bored when your title is too long. But, if the title of your story is long (and you can do anything about that anymore), make sure it's catchy okay?
For example:
You name your story as...
"The Random Boy I met and Fell in Love with." This is example of title exaggeration.
Of course! Your story was already into romance genre because of the word "love" in your title.
Why not just make it:
"The Random Boy" Catchy isn't it? It makes you think, "What's with the random boy?" or "What a title!" another is, "What the?! The Random Boy? Who's that?!"
That's when the time you'll have your first reader and congratulations for that!
Remember: Do not let your story be naked. Do not spoil the reader about your story. Your title should always have a "touch of mystery" on it.
When you use "The Random Boy I met and Fell in Love with" the reader will have a hint about your story and how it will end or start. Tendency, they'll get bored and will not read your story anymore.
