Chapter 4: The Nighthawk Returns (part two it no post the rest on previous chap)

Liara's POV

As soon as I arrived at the city I saw that there was a peacefulness about it at night. "Let's get this over with" as soon as I said that Bakura popped up saying "So you're back." I just kept my back to him as I said "Yeah, I'm back. So what do you want?" He seemed to think for a moment before saying "I have come with a proposition for you." I turned to face him as I gestured with my hand for him to continue. He got serious as he continued "You help me find my friend Liara and to get her amulet back and I make you into one of my commanders. A pretty good trade don't you think?" I sighed as I said "I can't help you steal the amulet or find your friend, because one she still has it and two you already found them." "What are talking about you fool that girl isn't Liara and how would you know!" I just snapped at that as I said "BAKA! You are so stupid Akefia!" He took a step back as I said that saying "How do you know my name!?" I just turned around since I heard something coming from the alley below us. Bakura just kept on rambling "HEY I'm talking to you!" I raised a hand to signal for him to be quiet. Seeing that he started listening as well him realizing a split second after me that it was the guards. He just glared at me while whispering "I'll finish this with you later hawk." I just nodded before I jumped off the building and ran off leaving him to deal with the guards. 'IDIOT! You nearly told him who you were!' As I finished that thought I realized that I had arrived at the home of the boy that I saw in the morning. "Here's as good a place as any to start my night off since it's already been screwed up by Akefia." I was about to climb up the building when I saw the boy laying on the ground next to the door. I walked up to him and shook him awake. He squeaked saying "PLEASE DON'T HURT ME FATHER!" I raised a hand saying "Kid I'm not your dad. I was just wondering why you're out here and not inside." His jaw just fell out as he stared at me saying "N-nighthawk?..." I just shrugged saying "Yeah I go by that when I'm on the job." He slowly stood up saying "She was right. You did come back." I tilted my head saying "So I'm going to assume that from the outburst that you're out here cause your father makes you?" He nodded as he said "Yeah. I would go live with my aunt but my father won't take me and I can't go during the night I'd get lost before I even got there." I nodded as i said "I could take you if you wanted me too." He blinked before saying "Not that I don't want you to its just that my aunt doesn't like you. She thinks that you're just like the Thief King." I smiled saying "Okay I'll just take my cloak off, but you have to promise not to tell any one who I really am. Okay?" His jaw dropped but he still nodded. I went out back and stuffed my cloak into the bag that I always carried when on the job. Once I came back he was looking at me saying "Oh hi! What are you doing here?" I laughed saying "I'm the nighthawk." And before he could say anything I showed him the cloak in my bag. He just stared at me saying "You're a girl?..." I nodded as I said "Yup! So where does your aunt live?" He smiled as he told me the way. Once we got there I knocked on the door. After a second we heard a woman saying "Just a minute!" After we heard a lock being removed the door opened to show a slightly pudgy woman who smiled at the boy saying "Tahar is that you?" He nodded saying "Yes it's me." She turned to me with a scowl saying "And you must be the horrible witch who is making my nephew go out on the streets to beg and who beats him!" I shook my headwhich wide eyes saying "No ma'm. I'm Marianne and I just brought him here." She looked at Tahar saying "Is this true?" Tahar nodded saying "Yes and she also helped prevent me from getting a beating today." The woman looked at me saying "Thank you. May Ra watch over you." I smiled as I said "May he watch over us all." She then turned to Tahar saying "I'm going to assume that you want to live with me if so come on in!" Tahar looked at me and hugged me as he said "Thank you for helping me. Come visit me sometime okay?" I smiled as I hugged back saying "You can count on it I may even bring my sis and some friends next time so they can meet you... Well I have to get home now." He smiled and said "Bye! See you around!" "You can count on it!" And with that I left for the palace thinking 'For the first night back on the job that was a pretty decent amount of work that I got done. The hawk is back and is ready to fly to the sun once again.'
