Chapter 3: Past Revealed

Amanda's POV

I had awoken to see Li's friend Horas on one of the bed posts. 'Hmm. Atem seems to like Li. I'm glad... She could use someone like him in her life. But I hope Horas approves of him. After all he is the closest thing to a father that she has left.' 'Knock! Knock!' I jumped as I came out of my train of thought. "Y-yes?" As I said that I stood up and quickly dressed as one of the pharaoh's servants relayed a message from the pharaoh to me. "The pharaoh requests your presence in his room. You should not keep him waiting it would be quite tactless." "Alright I'll be there once I'm ready." As I said that I heard a slight thud on the window sill. Turing I saw Li hanging upside down from an overhanging branch smiling that silly smile of hers... But also revealing her scar and her green eye. When I saw that I dragged her into the room saying "Are you insane!? What if someone saw your scar or worse your eye!?" Shaking her head she said "Amanda no one ever looks up it's one of the reasons that I like places that are high up off the ground." "But still you need to be more careful!?"

Atem's POV

I was on my way to see if Amanda was coming as I requested when I heard "But still you need to be more careful!?" Blinking I leaned next to the door to listen in on the conversation "Ames! Quit it you know I go crazy if I can't climb anything for more than 3 hours." I was about to knock on the door when it opened up when Marianne was pushed out of the room by Amanda who was yelling "Li! If you know what's good for you, you won't climb anything for as long as we are here!" She was probably going to say more but she noticed me so she shut up. That's when I realized that Marianne was on top of me trying to get up but I was holding onto her waist causing me to blush a light crimson red on my cheeks. "S-s-sorry..." If I was a stuttering mess you can only imagine her reaction. She was saying "Ummm. Uhhh. N-n-no it's... Uh. Its alr-r-right..." And you would not believe how red her face was! It was as red as a tomato! We both got up quietly when we heard Amanda giggling and saying "You two are so cute together!" Me and Marianne both said. "WHAT! IN THE NAME OF RA ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!" Amanda put a hand to her mouth saying "Oops. Did I say that out loud?..." Now I was kind of hoping to get away from Amanda and Marianne, but I had to get answers and I might as well ask them both since they were there. "Well may I speak with the two of you in private?" They both turned and nodded, but Marianne kept her eyes on the ground. I was leading them to a side room when Amanda said "Oh my goodness! I forgot to feed my pet I'll be back as soon as I can!" As soon as she said that she turned leaving me alone with the one person that I don't really want to be alone with presently. 'Gulp' "So how are things with you?" I turned to Marianne who had most of her composure back saying "Good, but I would like to know how you got snakes into the palace." Her eyes showed that she was utterly confused. "Two king cobras go by the names Kirava and Shirak?" Her eyes flashed with recognition saying "Oh! Them I could have sworn that I left them at home!... Wait how do you know about them?" I blinked saying "They popped up in my room telling me to not hurt Amanda or you or they'll be out to get me. So I was wondering if one of you sent them and how in the name of Ra do they have telepathic abilities?" She just clicked her tongue saying "No we did not send them, besides they only listen to me and Horas mostly Horas. For the other question all I know is that they have had it since they were born and that they only speak to some people."

Liara's POV

After saying that he nodded and leaned back in his chair. Clicking my tongue once again I said "I've been thinking about what you said to me yesterday. And I think you're right that I should tell someone." He leaned forward saying "So who are you gonna tell?" I closed my eyes saying "I'm going to do what Horas said." "Which is?" I sighed as I said "You." His eyes grew wide as he said "Me! Why would he suggest me?" I just shrugged saying "He just trusts you for some reason." He blinked several times as he said "So why don't you start from the beginning?" I sighed as I began to tell him my tale.
