Samejima POV

Interesting that you never realise how different you are to other people, until someone is in your own personal space.

As the golden eyed girl inspects my minimalistic navy room I jitter my leg on the bed nervously. "Can you stop that?"

I took her here after the meeting, with the agreement that two underlings were outside the door. I wasn't going to let that girl be held in a cell for christ sakes.

"Stop what?" she asks turning to face me.

"You've gone around the room twice, whatever you're looking for it's not there." I say and raise an eyebrow at her.

"You don't have anything in here that's... yours." she says in confusion. "Don't they allow y-"

"What you think because they're mafia they refuse to allow me to decorate?" I snap, and narrow my eyes.

"You think because you're mafia that tone scares me?" she growls back, and I feel heat fill my whole body. Her eyes were meeting mine without fear and she turned to me in a way that was non-aggressive. She was in no way scared of me.

Kind of hard not to find that intriguing.

We stay there looking at one another, grey meet caramel, until her eyes force mine away. She goes back to searching.

She had already gone through all my cupboards, but refused to touch any of my clothes. Seeing as she lost her coat back in the morning I was wondering if she was cold. Her shirt was only a soft cotton one and was quite thin.

She stops again in the room, her lean legs pausing, "What are you loo-"

"My brother..." she says softly, and picks out a photo on the mirror I have. I curse.

It was of everyone at Christmas. Reina and Soryu stand together and only Samejima and I's faces are visible right at the front of train.

I have the urge to snatch it out of her hands, to hide it, but I knew it was unfair. She sighs, walks backwards until she hits the bed and sits down a short distance away from me. "What was he like... my brother?"

"Kind. Funny. Loyal. Fierce. Determined. He never let us down, not until the day he died." I say with a dry throat and my heart starts to pound again.

"I wish... I wish I had never him walk out that door. I should have kept him home." she says, and folds on the bed. Her hair falls over her face and her arms come up to her eyes. God, was there any oxygen in here?

I freeze, and think to myself for a moment.

"Aurora... I'm sorry."

"You lost him too." she says, but her beautiful voice is masked, and I think that she's crying. Mustering every nerve I have, my arm comes up.

God how do people do this?

I push her hair back, oh god it was so soft, and cup her cheek- wiping a tear that was falling. "Hey..."

Her golden eyes stare at me, slightly wide to see I'm offering comfort. Heck I was shocked I was offering comfort. My eyes travel down to the outfit she was wearing. A white cotton shirt that showed off her asset and grey tatted jeans that had clearly been overused. Her legs could hardly look bad in anything though..

Aurora was perfect, and it was hard to bring my eyes back up. But once she looked at me with those gaze again... I was trapped.

"I don't know what I could say to make this better... You'll never be alone again, we'll always have your back. Ryosuke, he was family."

She bites her lip, and I stare wrongly, "Does that make me family Samejima?"

Was I... leaning in...?

She swallows, and her frame was small compared to my muscle. She fit to me perfectly. Somehow we had both come from opposite ends of the bed. Met in the middle and are staring at one another.

"Samejima.."

Knock Knock.

"You are requested in the Oh, office. 5 minutes." an underling snaps from behind the door.

We snap out of our haze. I look away and she blushes. "Right. Time to-"

"Yes-" she gets up from the bed and starts looking at her fingernails.

I sneak a glance at her, she was still biting her lip. Was she thinking of me... kissing her?

Don't girls always have to wait for the big kiss at the end of movies?

"Aurora..?"

"Yes?" she jumps and looks at me, the hair falling over her face.

"We should go." I say, standing up and pointing toward the door. She smiles up at me, that beautiful bloody smile.

Her hand reaches out and turns the knob. She opens it just slightly and my mind roars. I use my body to tumble into hers and my arm slams the door shut. I turn her body against the door, as she gasps.

My hand reaches into her hair and tilt her chin back. My eyes meet her golden brown and I lean down. My lips meet hers, and I move against hers; she makes a small whimper. Our mouths mould back and forth to one another. She gives and takes against me.

I bite her lip as she grabs my shoulder with her strong grip and then let her mouth go. She breathes in and out looking up at me. "Samejima..."

"We really need to go.."

"Then I think you should open the door this time." she smiles, her blush radiating.

I open the door, and I try to make myself tense again, strong again for this conversation. But looking down at the girl walking beside me, I don't think I need to protect her. We can take care of this ourselves.

Together.
