Finding your one true love, soulmate and partner in crime can be hard. However, if two people are meant to be together, love can find its way.

Alexander looked at the framed photo that he was holding and smiled brightly. It was a photo of a beautiful doctor who stole his heart since the very moment they met and still continued to make his heart beat a hundred times faster whenever he saw her. She had long wavy light brown hair and emerald eyes which melt him to his soul, and made him feel like a lovesick fool. The woman's name is Luciana, but Alex usually called her El or Lulu.

The more he stared at the picture, the more memories flashed through his overactive and giddy mind. Flashbacks from the first time he met her played in his head, he still remembered that day as clear as day. That day, he was in the hospital because his mother was ill. It was a gloomy, boring day for him as he walked around the hospital, hoping to find fresh air, because the hospital smell was driving him nuts. As he walked out into the hospital's garden, he saw a doctor with her hair neatly pinned in a high ponytail, sitting on a bench, crying. He knew she was crying although he couldn't see her face, due to the sounds of the heart wrenching sobs that filled the deserted garden. Him being him, of course approached the doctor.

"Doc, are you okay?" He asked, concerned

"Ahh!" Lucia screamed, jumping in shock at the new voice, and accidentally slapped the person in reflex.

"Sorry, I didnt mean to scare you." Alex said

"No, I should he the one saying sorry. I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to slap you. Oh gosh, I'm really really sorry!" She rambled in panic once her andrenaline rush had subsided.

"It's alright. Your didn't even hit me that hard." Alex said, smiling briefly and continued, "Is everything alright? I saw you crying earlier, I don't want to pry into your business or anything but if you want to talk to someone, I'm here for you. I understand if you dont want to though, that would be fine too!" Alex rambled, face red, as he embarassed himself infront of the beautiful doctor.

"Well, it's the doctor's happiness if the patient is cured, but sometimes things doesn't go the way we want it to go no matter how hard we tried. I just-" She sighed, "I'm supposed to help them get better and see them leave this hospital not the other way around. I don't know, I just feel like I've failed my job as a doctor." She continued sadly, her head hung low.

"I know a doctor's job is to cure their patients, but if they have tried their best but fate says a different thing, then it's not their fault. It's God's decision beacuse they have done everything they possibly could. Some of us leave this world earlier than the rest but you have to remember there is death in everyone's life. It's inevitable, so it's just a matter of when. You wont know if you would die tommorow, or a decade from now. No one can live forever so we just have to live our life to the fullest, I suppose." Alex said in a soothing voice.

"I guess so." She said, wiping her tears away, before she continued "That's an incredible speech you get there! You're so wise, and really thank you. Talking to you makes me feel much better. And oh my! Where are my manners? I'm Lucia, a new doctor here." Lucia said while smilling.

"I'm Alex. I'm here because my mom's is hospitalized." Alex said, the smile that he had once on his face vanished completely.

"What's your mom's sickness, if you don't mind me asking?" She asked, voice filled with sympathy.

"She has stage 2 leukaemia so she's currently doing Chemotherapy. She's been here for a while though." He replied sadly

"Oh, I'm sorry, but I'm sure she is a very strong women that can beat that horrible disease. I hope she will recover soon! I'm sending all prayers to you and your family." She smiles to cheer Alex up

"She is, she is the strongest person I know. I'm just scared that she will lose the battle, because it isn't a fair battle in the first place. I really don't want to lose her. She's the only one I have now."

"I'm sorry for your lost." She said sadly

"It's okay. I lost him when I was 10."

"It must be really hard for you."

"It was, I used to be really close with him." He said sadly
