The Ring

He wears it,
barring the weight.
It is a
part of him,
and of her.
He can't look
at it, or
her at him.
He loves her.

Alone or together,
forever theirs shared.
A bond unbroken,
made by hearts
kept in it.

She wears it,
all for him.
Barring the weight.
But she can't,
not like this.
She never wanted
it at all.
She loved him.

She can't look
not at it
or at him.
It hurts more
then he will
ever really know.
