(This isn't exactly a poem but it's based on my poem "The Ring." So please enjoy. ~Dragonknight215)

He hears it ringing but it sounds like something else. She picks up the phone but, He speaks first.

"Hey, it's been a while..."
"Yeah it has been. I've been busy."
"Oh, Yeah, me too."
"Are you outside or something I can hear the wind?"
"I'm out at the lake, on the cliffs, the wind is pretty strong."
"Oh it's kinda cold to be out there, don't you think?"
"Honestly I hadn't noticed.... I'm up at the spot where I asked you the question."
"..."
"I know you're over all of this. I was just out here and I started thinking about how cold it was in December, bringing you all the way up here in the moon light. It looked kinda like tonight.......I wish we had one more night like that."
"I'm sorry.... You know I ca-"
"I know, I know. You're with someone else,.... I'm happy for you."
"I think I should go it's getting kinda late."
"Wait! Please...before you go...just one more time... can I hear you say it. Just I love you."
"....."
"I know I sound crazy but I'm begging you please."
"Ok....I.....I......I can't I'm sorry, I don't love you anymore."
"Goodnight my love, I'll see you when I wake from this nightmare."
The phone fell to the ground, and He went in to the cold waters below.

When She finally made it there, tears falling like rain, tonight was so similar to that night She could see them in the past. He was dragging Her by the hand up the hill. Telling Her  She'd love this view.

When She reached the top She found a sight She hadn't quite expected. The moon shining down, showing a bottle of cheap whiskey more than half empty, a small blue box She knew it instantly, and there by the edge lay His phone, it's shattered screen still shining on the rock. She gently picked up the box and was taken back to mid December. She stood on the edge in awe, He was behind Her and when She turned to face Him, He was down on one knee. A little blue box, open in the palm of His hand; a ring shining by the moonlight inside the box. He spoke so softly but She could hear Him now even though He was gone.
"My love, will you marry me?"
She couldn't answer then, She was scared and She let it consume Her. Now however She spoke out loud.
" YES!!! A thousand times yes. I was so scared and stupid, but I love you, I know that now!!! I'll see you when I wake up from this nightmare." She fell too just like Her tears to the waters below.

Deep from Her sleep She snapped, finding Herself in His arms. The soft warmness of the bed chasing off the cold shiver of the water. She felt the ring on Her finger and heard Him whisper.
"It's ok my love, the nightmare is over."
