“So…you guys ready to visit Vox126?” Hunk asked tentatively. My boots propped upon the white-topped table and my back pressed against an uncomfortable chair, I kept quiet and focused my attention away from Lance as he answered: “Yes, definitely… Wait…” I knew what was coming when his blue eyes lit up. “…You think there might be any alien babes there??”
Sighing, I turned to face the side-window as he continued on about a specific species of alien he’d like to meet in person. Hunk let him talk, feigning interest, while Shiro dozed off and Pidge stared at me, her face cold and assessing. I lifted an eyebrow in question, and she mimicked the expression – but I had no idea what she was asking.
Well…. Maybe SOME idea…
I had been very nonchalant and unsuspicious about my jealousy up until about a week ago. That was when the leaders of Vox126 told us that, in order to be trusted, two of the Paladins had to express love for each other in some way. Since Pidge was the only girl in the group and Lance was the youngest boy, they were chosen to play the parts. And it provokes my emotions immensely to see them holding hands and sweet-talking – even if it isn’t real. But… the way Pidge gets flustered when Lance smiles or flirts with her… I don’t know if it’s fake to her. And that worries me.
Especially when I have my eyes set on Lance, the Blue Paladin of Voltron.
