The house was in the middle of nowhere. Outside the space that the child could get in was the city. But the dead part of it, where there were no houses and no creatures living. Tumbleweeds were seen, and the sound of the hot wind was heard; it was that kind of desert. But it was artificial, just like the child's brain. They wanted him to hate the world, but what they didn't know was that he would've, even without them approaching him. Their main goal was for him to give up, because there was no escape. He was going to spend his life in one place, just like Rapunzel, but the difference was; this isn't a fairy tale. Bad guys don't always lose, even if everyone wanted them to. They tried to darken his thoughts as he grew up, but his childhood was closer to being normal. All the food, toys or anything needed was brought by planes. People who approached him, from outside the house, wore big suits, which frightened him as a child. They were taught to be scared of him, because he was one of the most dangerous humans across the earth, even if he looked normal. Anyone can change people's minds by slowly entering new thoughts in it. People always talked about the kid, when he was born, and every person told a frightening story about him, of course, a story that was made up. But it wasn't their fault; they were fed lies and couldn't make out the truth. Their only mistake was following the rules blindly, but they had no other choice but to obey. The place had a big room, with a white carving that had "Orifice" written on it, in which all that a human needed was. An orifice means an opening in the body, and all the food there went to the child's body, through the opening, which was the mouth. So the name of the room was well thought about, just like everything else the responsible does. The ladies working in the house had taken care of that child because nobody knew if he was dangerous, safe, diseased or even sane, nobody knew why his X-Ray was one of a kind. Yes, they were told things, and even though everybody acted like they believed them, most of them didn't but they didn't question them either. Surrounded by the desert, the hot air and nothing to see; a few artificial plants were placed near the windows so the kid, Vincent, couldn't know where he was. It was stupid, because he knew nothing about locations anyway, but severe precautions were taken. The sun touched the house each morning, and Vincent would be near the window, pushing his hand out so the sun would trace it, feeling the hot rays on his skin, and watching the dark skin become enlightened, of course, under the watch of Edith. It would make him laugh. Both employees have been threatened to the point where they were scared to look at anything but him. If he went missing, they have been promised that what would happen would be worse than death. Sometimes, when Edith and Margaret got tired, they flew away for a few days, to breathe fresher air, and they'd come back. 3 days was a maximum, when he was a child, but when he reached age 10, they could only go away for one day, and separately. Not many people could do the job, but with such salaries, when you needed them, you'd do anything. During their vacation, the kid would have to deal with needles, and would sleep for a few days with a muscle attached to his hand, to make up for the food. He doesn't remember any of those days though, some parts of his childhood were forgotten as he grew up. They didn't go much on vacations though, they couldn't. They did love and care for him a lot, but they needed to breathe, and there's no love like the love of a mother for her child. As much as they loved him, they couldn't love him like his mother would. It was a big house, the bricks were white and red, close to the colors of a hospital. It was very easy to distinguish. People all across the country were alarmed not to approach it at all, barriers have been built to keep him from getting in touch with people, and to keep people from approaching him. The only persons in the house were nanny Edith and Margret, who have taken care of him since he was young. And, of course, the few guards that acted like they were immortals, and like they were the most important people around because they were responsible of the security around the house. They acted tough and serious all the time, not smiling, ever, frowning and looking grumpy.
