Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Beach Day!

I was sprawled out on the couch, watching Indiana Jones before Wally walked into the room. "Siren, stop hogging the couch!" He whined, standing in front of me. "Fine." I moped, sitting up. He sat down where my head was, only to have me lie back down with my head in his lap. "Comfy, bro. Thanks." I said, looking up at him and then back at the tv. "Oh, Siren. You really are a weird one." He said. "Yo, Wally! Where'd you... oh, hey Siren." Aqualad walked in the room, looking for Wally to see me sprawled across the couch with my head in his lap. He wiggled his eyebrows. "What did I walk into?" Aqualad asked.

"Don't be a stupid, Aqualad. We're best friends, right Wally?" I said. "Hell yeah." Wally responded with a little chuckle. I lifted my hand for a high-five with Wally and he slammed his hand into mine. "Ow Wally what the frick!" I complained, bringing my hand back down and cradling it. Aqualad laughed, sitting down on my legs. "Ow, Aqualad!" I complained, pulling my legs out from under him and placing them in his lap. "Wow, you boys are comfy. I should use you as couches more often." I joked, wincing as on the tv, Indie almost got caught in a trap. Next M'gann and Superboy walked into the room, hearing all the commotion. "I do not understand, is this an Earth custom?" M'gann asked, sitting in a chair as Supey sat on another. "For normal girls, no. For Siren, it happens more than you might think." Wally said. "Where's Rob? We need the whole team." I said. "Oh, Rob," I said in a sing-song voice. "Come here."

"Oh no," Rob said before walking into the room. "Well that's a sight." He said, looking at me sprawled over Wally and Aqualad. "Watch the movie with us!" I exclaimed. "Um, where should I sit?" He asked. I stood up, motioning to the seat in-between Wally and Aqualad. "Well then where will you sit. Or lie? Or whatever." He asked. "On you three, duh." I said, grinning widely at the boy. He gave a chuckle, his cheeks tinging pink "Okay." He said. He said between the two boys, held my waist and brought me onto his lap so I could lie down. My face quickly blushed, not expecting him to touch my waist. "Ooooohhh, Siren's blushing!" Wally teased, looking down at my face. I stuck my tongue out at him, turning on my side so I could watch the movie.

About 30 minutes into the movie, Wally started complaining. "I'm bored. And hungry. I'm bored and hungry!" He exclaimed exasperated. I suddenly sat up, sitting on Robin's lap. "Beach day!" I exclaimed. "What?" Rob asked. I turned around to look at him, which was kinda hard since I was on his lap. "Beach day," I repeated. "Y'know we play around at the beach and stuff." Everyone agreed. "Okay so Wally and Rob, go back home and get your swimsuits! M'gann, and I will cook food. I don't trust any of you around an oven besides M'gann, by the way, and Aqualad and Superboy, you guys can set up at the beach! I'm sure you guys can find stuff." I said. Everyone quickly agreed, Rob and Wally rushing off to the zeta tubes. Aqualad and Supey wandered off to find some stuff. "Let's see what we have in the fridge, Meghan!" I exclaimed, skipping over to the fridge. I opened the door, only to see that there was nothing in there. "Frick. Okay, let's make cookies for now and when everyone gets back we can go shopping to get like watermelon and stuff like that." I said.

-Time Skip-

"We're back!" Rob and Wally called. "Guys we have to go shopping to get some snacks!" I said. "Wally, can you go find Aqualad and Superboy?" I asked. Wally raced off, returning a minute later. "They'll be here in a few minutes." He said.

"Great, lets see, what do we need?" I asked, taking out paper and pen. "Watermelon, duh. That's an obvious one." I wrote down. "Popcorn, chips, apples, cookies, crackers, berries, water, lemonade, soda, seltzer." Wally listed off, counting off his fingers. By the time we had made our list, Aqualad and Superboy had arrived. "Okay, so I guess we'll have to walk to the store? It's not very far; let's go!"

-Time Skip-

Finally, after a 10 minute walk, mainly consisting of Wally complaining. "Wait, guys," I said, "There was a lot of food in the fridge and cabinets yesterday. Where'd it all go?" Wally's face flushed. "Hey, I have a high metabolism. I eat a lot." He defended. I smacked him on the head. "Next time let me know!" I exclaimed as we walked into the Supermarket. We must've looked like such a crowd: six teens just walking into a supermarket. "Okay, lets do this quickly. Divide and conquer. Two to each team, we'll divide the products and first to meet at isle one wins." I said. Wally and Aqualad paired together, M'gann paired with Superboy, and I paired with Robin. "Alright, team Aquaflash, y'all do popcorn, chips and cookies. SuperMartian, you guys get the drinks and Rob and I will get fruits and some vegetables." I said, grabbing three baskets. I handed one to Aqualad, one to M'gann and kept the last for myself. "On your marks... get set... go!"
