Chapter Nine

The bioship flew over the Carribean Sea, Miss Martian seated at the controls and the other five of us were scattered in seats surrounding her. "We're approaching Santa Prisca." She said. I tugged at my shirt nervously. "Hey, you okay?" KF leaned forward. Robin heard this and turned his head, making a private conversation between the three of us. I was probably closest with these two. "Yeah, I was just thinking. On our other two missions I didn't exactly do very well. I mean with Superboy I passed out halfway through and with Mr. Twister I... also passed out a good way through. Maybe I'm just a dead weight." I said gloomily. "Hey, don't say that!! You're so great... I mean you're great at your powers." Robin said, his face flushing a little. "Yeah, what he said. Except imagine that when I say it I make you fall in love with me." Wally said, wiggling his eyebrows at me. I laughed, placing the palm of my hand on the side of his face and playfully turning it the other way. "Wow, Wally. Nice job making the lady swoon." Aqualad called out. Wally's face turned as red as his hair. "Shut up." He muttered, obviously embarrassed.

-Earlier that day-

" Isla Santa Prisca. This island nation is the primary source of a dangerous and illegal steroid. A strength-enhancing drug. Sold under the street name 'Venom'.

"What a name." I murmured under my breath, causing Wally to chuckle lightly. 

"Infrared heat signatures indicate their factory is still operating at full capacity. But, all shipments of Venom have been  cut off. That's where this team comes in. This is a covert, recon mission only. Observe and report. If the Justice League needs to intervene, it will. This plan required two drop zones." Batman said.

"So who's in charge?" Robin asked. Batman and Red Tornado turned around, looking at each other. They were clearly not prepared for this. "Work that out amongst yourselves." Robin nodded, smiling as he went into deep thought, probably about how he could become the leader.

-Back to the Present-

"Drop Zone A in 30." M'gann informed us. Aqualad stood up, his chair 'melting' back into the Bioship. Aqualad pressed his belt to turn his suit into night mode. "Ready." Aqualad said. "Putting Bioship in camouflage mode." M'gann said. The Bioship quickly turned translucent. She flew close over the water, and Aqualad dived out into the sea. 

After a moment, M'gann announced, "Drop Zone B." The five of us stood up. As M'gann created wires to hold onto us, Robin, KF and I clipped them to our belts, being the three unable to fly/fall long distances without breaking every bone in our body. KF quickly pressed his Flash symbol, turning into night mode. "How cool is this?" He asked, showing off to M'gann and I. "Not very impressive." I said at the same time M'gann said, "Very impressive."KF nodded. "I'll take that as a win." He grinned. M'gann quickly turned into her night mode clothes. KF stared at her. "Uh, that works too." He looked at me. "You gonna change?" He asked. I rolled my eyes. "Wally, my suit is black. I don't need to." "Uh, right, right." 

"Hey, Supey. Not too late to put on the stealth tech." KF prodded. "No capes, no tights. No offense." He said. "Hmm... maybe I should adopt a cape." I pondered. "Now's not the time." Robin reminded me. "Right, right. Sorry." I grinned.

"It totally works for you." M'gann said, her hand holding up her head as she stared at him. "Subtle." I teased in a sing-song voice. M'gann looked at me. "I-In that you can totally do good work in them." She said. Superboy looked away, but I swear I saw a bit of a smile on his face.

M'gann, KF, Robin and I landed on the floor, the four of us leaping out of the way as Supey slammed down on the ground. A crater formed where he landed. "Knew I didn't need a line." He smirked. "How does that not hurt?!" I exclaimed, throwing my arms up in the air. "And yet creating a seismic even may not have helped us much with the 'covert'." Robin said. "Meh, we're in the middle of the woods. It's not like he just landed down in the warehouse." I defended. "Aqualad, Drop B is a go." M'gann said in our coms. "Copy that. Head down to the warehouse. I'll track you guys and rendezvous asap." Aqualad replied. "Copy that." Robin said. The five of us headed out, M'gann flying while the rest of us followed behind. Finally, M'gann landed and we began walking together.
