CHAPTER 2

My alarm woke me up from my sleep, I jolted up and my hands immediately hit the snooze button.

It's 7 am. Thank god I slept with no nightmares or cried to my sleep last night, I am used to this, to wake up in the morning and not being a whiny about it, I am not a morning person but I'm also not a not morning person, maybe it's because I'm used to it, like I said before.

I went downstairs and my mom in the kitchen making breakfast, I could tell from far away, the smell of eggs and French toast filled my nostrils,

"Smells so good, mom" I complimented her cooking skills, "Oh! Roxanne, you surprised me, thank you sweetie, I made some French toast and eggs for us." My mother smiled at me.

"Where's dad?" I asked her, I looked around the large kitchen. "Oh, dad still sleeping I'll wake him up when breakfast ready." My mother replied me,

I patiently sat on the dining chair waiting for my mom to finish her cooks, "All ready! I'll go upstairs to wake your daddy up." My mother told me as she wiped her hands on her apron.

Minutes later she came back with my dad. "Morning, dad." I said to him, I know he barely heard it, he's still on his big navy robe, and slippers on, rubbing his left eye. But he made it to sit on the chair.

"Good morning, Roxy." My father finally spoke, his voice is raspy and dry, "Good morning.. To you too" my voice came out as a whisper at the end, my mother hands me a plate full of breakfast and a glass of orange juice and joined us as soon as she finished handing plates to my dad and I.

"So, since it's your.. I guess we could say your first day at home, maybe we could do something fun today, don't you think, Ben?" My mother's head turned to my father who's cutting his bread.

"Oh, absolutely, it's some sort of a celebration I guess." My father shoved the bread to his mouth.

"Don't you have to go to work, dad? I mean what day is it? Monday?" I replied him with more questions. "Well, actually I do, but I purposely asked Mr. Smith for a break today just to be with you and your mother." My father threw a smile at me, excitement was clear in his voice.

"I'm not sure about that, dad. I have to go for a run this morning, remember? I didn't even have the chance to jog yesterday." It's a part of my routine now, it has started since I was thrown to that hospital, Doctor Robert suggested me to do more exercise and now I'm used to it.

As soon as the words came out from my mouth, the excitement from both of my parents are gone, my father frowned, my mother has stopped cutting her egg,

"Well, wouldn't it be amazing if we could spend time together, maybe go to somewhere you want." My father kept on persuade me.

"How about this, we could go, three of us, to a movie perhaps, on Saturday, how about that?" I suggested back to avoid any arguments,

I really don't feel like going out, I mean to somewhere especially because I'm still tired.

I waited and still there's no sound coming out from both of my parents.

"It's a yes then, now excuse me while I'm going to take a shower" I shove the last piece of bread and headed upstairs leaving my parents in silence.

...

The warm water hits my body, how I missed this feeling, having a perfect temperature in the shower, when I was in that hospital, the shower water temperature is either like you are in fucking North Pole or you're being spat by satan.
