CHAPTER 3

I looked at my feet, "yeah, I know." I pulled my lips in a straight line and attempted to force a small smile.

Awkward silence has past for seconds until I decided to speak.

"How is she?" I asked him to break the silence.

"She's good, she's inside, you wanna come?" He smiled at me pointing his thumb to his house.

"Oh, actually I-" a female voice cut me off,

"Zayn! Who are you talking to?" The voice came from the house drawing our attention.

Our heads turned towards the house, and immediately looked up. A blonde head peeking out from the window with arms cross at her chest.

Of course, it's Perrie.

Her beauty hasn't fade at all, still as pretty as I remember, it's not like we both are enemies, I always wanted to be friends with her, but I assumed she didn't feel the same.

She tied her blonde hair into a high bun, and she was wearing a long sleeve grey shirt.

"Guess who's here! It's Roxanne! She just got back from the hospital." Zayn shouted back at her with a neutral tone, I know what he was doing, he was trying to make the tension was as less awkward as possible when annoyance was clear in her tone.

I waved my hand at her from down below forcing a smile, she fed me back with a small smile, I couldn't really tell what kind of smile that was, a sympathy? welcoming? what is it? a fake one I believe.

"Nice to see you, Roxanne! Zayn you didn't forget you have to work did you?" She squint her eyes and pulled the fakest smile I've ever seen, I looked at my feet and and shook my head little, a low chuckled came our from my mouth.

She just called me a resistor? If she wasn't his girlfriend I would have came to her and smack the shit out of her.

I wish she knew how I encouraged Zayn to made a move on her, I wish she knew how much I support Zayn and her to be together, but no instead she reckons me as her threat in their relationship.

"Yeah." Zayn shortly answered her, his attention was back on me.

I awkwardly put both of my hands in my sweatshirt pockets, "Rox, there's a party tonight at my house" He put his hands on my shoulder, his voice tenses.

I looked at his arm on my shoulder then back to him, I gulped down joining his nervousness, what the hell is he trying to say? and why all of the sudden he acted this way?

"Okay.." I shortly answered, my voice was thin.

"I was planning to propose her tonight, she didn't know it was a engagement party, all she knew it was just another party, so.." His brown eyes glows when he mentioned the word engaged but his tone still shows how nervous he was,

He was always like this, shy and nervous when it comes to girls, honestly, I don't remember how we became friends in the very first place, all I knew we just did,

I gasped loud, too loud. I put my hand on my mouth to shut to keep myself in silence, "that is so great, Zayn, I'm so happy you are going to do that"

Wow, just wow, finally, I am genuinely very happy for him, it felt like, I'm not really sure but it felt like a part of me has been lifted, my eyes got a little ready but I ignored it.

He smiled, that was the warming smile I've ever seen on him, his eyes turns from brown to gold by the sun, reflecting his delight.

"I know, I want you to come, okay? the dress code is every girls has to wear a dress and the guys has to wear a shirt." He continued to smile.
