When we drove off she had her head on the window as the cold breeze lingered across her face.

"Aren't you cold?"

"No. Not really. It's nice feeling the breeze rushing by."

She took her head in and looked at me.

"I'll roll it up. Because it's getting chilly."

She rolled it up and started looking at me. It felt awkward that she was looking at me and it was so quiet. So I said something.

"I can't believe you met my aunt and cousin without me planning it. And it's been a while before I've seen them. Sorry if you didn't enjoy the date."

"I did enjoy it. Your aunt is very nice and October is so sweet. I love them Orion."

My eyes widened when she touched my hand. "And you too."

I looked her in the eyes. She was happy. So was I.

"You love me?"

"Yes Orion. I know that we just met but. I think we can be good friends."

I frowned and looked at her then back on the road.

"So you love me as a friend?"

"No. As something deeper."

My face lit back up when she told me that.

"I love you the same way too, cake."

We reached the apartment and we went inside and up the elevator. We stopped at her door.

"See you tomorrow Orion."

"Wait. So can't I come in?"

"And do what? Watch cartoon?"

"No. We could talk."

She raised her eyebrow and leaned on the door jam.

"I'll leave after we're done. Come on cake do you really love me?"

"I do but, we're just friends."

"Ok, I see." I turned around and headed for the elevator.

Wait for it, wait for it.

"Hold on Orion."

Bingo!

I turned around. "Yes cake."

"We can talk. BUT! Just for an hour."

"Thank you so much."

"Whatever just come inside."

She turned around and went inside waiting for me to enter. So I did.

She locked the door.

"You can sit. Amma go take a shower."

"Can I go with you?"

"What was that?."

"Nothing. I was just wondering if I could take a shower too."

"Ummm. Yeah I guess. Follow me."

She led me to the guest bathroom. Her house is so simple and modern.

"Here you go. I'll get your towel."

She went for it and a rag folded neatly on top.

"Here you go. If you need anything just call me."

"Ok."

She went out and closed the bathroom door. I took off my clothes and went in the bath. I stood under the shower as I allowed the water to beat my skin.
