INSTAGRAM ABEL-Part One

Hi, my name is Stacey and I'm an Abelholic.

Instagram is great for so many reasons, especially for fan accounts. I started my Weeknd fan account a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. I can find out what he's up to, where and when he's performing, what the fans are doing, share pictures and videos, and be part of an amazing fan base that also love and adore him. XO 'till we overdose!

The love of my life is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye and he is 27 years old. He is of Ethiopian decent and was born in Scarborough, Ontario. He is a very prolific song writer and has already put out an impressive amount of music both as a solo artist and as a collaboration with various other artists.

I go on my IG account several times a day just to check out what's been posted about Abel. I try to post as often as possible and although I don't have a theme, I just love to be part of the XO family.

Last November I decided to send Abel a message, this time being probably the tenth or so I'd sent him, all of which he hadn't even looked at. You know, shit like I love you, I adore you, I want to meet you, etc. I didn't want to send him too many because I didn't want to look like a stalker or something, but I wanted to continue just in case he actually read it one day.

So, near the beginning of November I sent him the following message:

Hi Abel, I really hope you read this message. I am a huge fan of your music and I would love nothing more than to meet you. I live in Vancouver Canada (fellow Canadian!) and I will be buying tickets to your show in April so I can see you in concert for the second time.

It doesn't look like you have a meet and greet for this tour and it breaks my heart. If only I'd had a chance to meet you when you came to Vancouver before! Anyway, I hope to meet you somehow.

My name is Stacey and I'm 23 years old. I'm single and live alone in a small apartment in downtown Vancouver. I think we'd get along really well because almost everything you comment or post on like music, movies, etc. I totally agree with! You are my perfect kind of guy but like the only problem is you make it really difficult for anyone I meet to live up to you lol.

Anyway, I would love to grab a drink with you after your show in April. If you are interested at all, it would make my LIFE!

I love and adore almost everything you do and I listen to your music every single day. I hope this doesn't seem desperate, I just wanted to try this because, what have I got to lose?

I sent my message on that Thursday night around 8 pm in hopes that it being a Thursday, it would be a good omen.

I woke up the next morning for work at 7 am and checked IG which I do first thing every morning. I always check to see if I have any messages before I look at anything else, and I noticed there was one. I gasped and quickly opened it. It was from The Weeknd! I was standing at the bathroom sink but when I saw this, I had to sit down.

I walked over to my bed, my heart beating rapidly, and sat on the edge. My hands were shaking as I read his message:

Hi Stacey, thanks for your message and for being such a devoted fan. It's because of people like you that I continue to make music.

I'm sorry I won't be doing meet and greets this tour but I would definitely be up for meeting you after the show. I can get you an exclusive pass that will allow you backstage access after the show so we can meet.
