The next morning, I was taking a walk outside. I was really bored and didn't have anything to do. I leaned against a tree outside when suddenly I heard a strange noise. It was really loud and sounded like a noise I heard in my dream... It was growing louder and louder until it was right behind me. I turned around to see what it was.
A blue phone booth? That's odd. I never saw a blue phone booth just sitting there on the street... And phone booths didn't make that weird noise, did they? Strange. Suddenly, someone opened the door and stepped out. He walked up to me. "Raine? Do you remember me?"
"Um, I'm sorry, I don't think we've met..." I replied. By suddenly... He did look a bit familiar. "Who... are you?"
"I'm just a traveler," he said. "Imagine it, no tax, no bills, no boss. Just the open sky. But there's no time to talk. We have to go. Come with me," he said.
"What?" I said, confused.
"Please, they're coming, I don't want you to get captured by them!" he said. "Follow me!"
I was really puzzled but I decided to follow him anyway. Running after him, I called out, "Who is coming? What's this all about?"
"The Cybermen!" he said.
"Cybermen?!" I said. Oh no... That sounded so familiar... Those were the robotic things in my dream... The ones that were trying to capture Rose!!!
Before I had time to speak, he pulled out this strange device with a glowing blue tip and pointed it to the lock of a nearby store. We ran inside and he looked out of the window. There were strange robotic things walking down the street. The Cybermen.
"You will be deleted," they said in a computer voice as they marched to the door. There were so many of them. My heart raced as they got closer. The strange man pulled me to the back of the store. "Stay right here, don't move!" he ordered.
I stayed in the back of the store. I definitely was not going outside with those things out there!
He ran out of the store to face the machines.
I wondered why I was even listening to the strange man in the first place. I didn't even know him! I opened the door a crack and peered outside. He was sticking random gold pieces into the chests of the machines. Every one of them fell on the ground. Why the heck was he using gold? I wondered. I opened the door and ran outside.
