Two reapers.
One adored.
One ignored.

Will POV.

I continued to do paper work as that useless excuse of a reaper had been gone for almost four days now. Today I decided to haul that reaper out of their bear's den and finally get them to work. I had gotten overtime almost everyday because of his disappearance. I sighed as I finished the last bit of work I had today, and finally got some peace. I got up and walked out of my office. Some people were still here and had said hi, I didn't reply to them as I got my scythe and walked over to the excuse of a reaper's house. I noticed that it wasn't as red before and a bit more... Dull. That's not like the reaper.

I shook it off as it was probably him being lazy again. I sighed as I knocked on the door, it was also pretty dull. But I ignored it as I heard a loud thump and some shuffling. So he's not dead, I think it'd be better if he was but atleast I wouldn't get so much work. If he did actually do the work he was suppose to. After about five minutes he finally opened the door.

'Odd.' I thought. He wasn't wearing his usual smile he had. His red hair had also been cut, he wasn't wearing any makeup or anything red. Except for his hair, I tried shaking it off but it seems I just couldn't until he finally spoke up.
"Do you need something William?" He asked, he should already know why I'm even here! I mentally growled as I adjusted my glasses and spoke. "Sutcliff, you haven't been coming to work lately. I've come over here just to haul you back to work. I've gotten mountains of work just because of you Sutcliff, return tomorrow and stop sulking." He seemed shock at first before he went back to the almost saddened stare.

"Alright." His voice had sounded a bit strained. Seriously what has this reaper been doing to himself? He closed the door gently as I heard another thump and sobbing. I froze, he had really been sulking? I decided to not snoop in since it wasn't my business. But I heard little words that I couldn't help but hear. "I'm nothing." I exhaled sharply as I turned around and knocked on his door. Rather loudly this time. He didn't answer but I heard a metal thing hit the floor. I instantly knew what it was and had started knocking louder. "Sutcliff open this door!" I shouted but he still didn't move.

I had kicked the door in a panic over and over again until it broke and fell to the floor. I saw blood, a lot of it. I panicked as I saw the smaller shinigami in a pile of blood. I ran over to him as I grabbed him tightly. He hadn't used a death scythe so he wouldn't die. I was still in a panic as i examined his arms. Cuts, full of cuts. How long has he been doing this?

He had opened his eyes slightly.

Looked at me and whispered.

"I'm rejected."

He said as his eyes had looked full of sadness. It had sparked a memory in my head.

Flashback

I noticed Sutcliff aroumd the corner as I talked to Ronald. I paid no attention to him as I finished speaking with him and walked to the corner and just walked past him.

-two days later-

Other reapers seemed to be yelling at someone. It was quite usual probably from the lack of sleep we've had. Some others had walked up to me just to say hi or have a question. I noticed Sutcliff had come out of the room the other reaper was In. But I paid no attention to it.

-a week later-

This was usually the time Sutcliff came to bother me. I didn't mind the silence, but I did see strands of red hair pass by my office multiple times.

I had actually became very successful during the time Sutcliff wasn't around. But I always did notice him near the corners or walking by. Nobody seemed to talk to him, and he didn't talk to anyone.

But I paid no attention to it.
