As he stood there on the rooftop, the raven reaper stared down. As the rain droplets went down his face, he still had his famous stern look even on the brink of death. He couldn't let him know, he couldn't let anyone know. As he coughed slightly, covering his mouth. The reaper heard a light meow, he always had a soft spot for cats. The reaper turned around as he was met with the furry feline, he went over to pet it a last time. The cat purred as he pet it, then he stopped.

As he got up, walking back over to the edge. He looked off the edge once more as the droplets ran down his face. He wasn't prepared for the weather, but he was happy he got to see it a last time. Coughing violently once more, he sat on the edge. The blood that came from his mouth mixing with the water droplets. Almost like a blood rain.

And then he heard walking footsteps, cursing slightly as he didn't want anyone to see him in this state. He turned around to look at the redhead. He seemed to not be prepared for the weather either as he wasn't exactly wearing anything. But he had his chainsaw in his hand of course, preparing for danger. The red head walked over to the raven reaper as his eyes were filled with concern. "William? What are you doing on a rooftop on a day like this?" He asked, the raven reaper found himself not able to respond. The blood slowly filling his mouth as he coughed it out once more, kneeling.

The red head was even more concerned as he knelt down to the raven haired reaper. "Will?" He said out of concern, the reaper didn't answer. Eyes shut closed as he was breathing slowly, very, very, slowly. But Will was just Will, and not even Will he look weak in his death. "Will come on! We have to get home.." The redhead said, shaking the raven reaper slightly as there was still no response. The reaper coughed out more blood as he pushed Grell away, not wanting the reaper to get close.

"Will?! You're not okay, we have to get you to the infirmary!" He shouts, the reaper shook his head. He'd rather die here then go back to the things he's lost. But as the raven reaper finally got the strength to stand, He caressed Grell's cheek as his grey, tired eyes looked into Grell's piercing green eyes. "I'm sorry." He whispered out, blood running down his cheek as he looked at Grell. Giving him a last kiss on the lips as Grell fought back tears, holding onto William's shoulders for dear life. "W-Will no! Y-You won't die here, you won't die!" He shouts, burying his face in William's chest. "I-I p-promise."

"You shouldn't make promises you can't keep, Grell Sutcliff."  He said, smiling. Before he went limp in the redhead's arms. Even in death, he wouldn't look weak anymore. As the redhead looked up at the lifeless reaper, he still looked as stern as ever even in death. And the red droplets finally left, only leaving the grey skies of death upon.

And that, was the broken promise of Grell Sutcliff.

(wOOF that took awhile jeez

Yeah, I kinda just wanted to end the story 'ere,

Also, Will had a disease that affects reapers aswell, he seemed to have gotten it once he saw Grell with that cut in his neck.

And once he was diagnosed, he didn't have long to live. He didn't know how this could kill a reaper, but he swore to himself he would never look weak even in death. Also, the broken window and blood.

Will did that. The blood is from coughing and then breaking the window even though he felt as if he was unconscious, he finally regained his consciousness on the rooftop, then he realized.

Atleast he died peacefully, I guess.

Pretty sucky ending amirite?
