Chapter 8

    Baekhyun stopped listening after hearing the words "Lay's too injured." Without waiting for the others, he dashed into the main quarters, but the sight before him made him freeze in his tracks. His cousin was lying on the ground, eyes closed, blood seeping out of what seemed to be gunshot wounds from his abdomen and thighs. Bruises littered his face and arms, and his leg was twisted in a position that didn't seem normal. One of the guys, Kris, had his hands pushing the wound in his stomach, but the blood just came gushing out. He turned towards Baekhyun and shouted something, but all Baekhyun could hear was the loud ringing in his hears. Only when he felt somebody push him did he come back to his senses. Running towards Yixing, he dropped to his knees and put his ears to his cousin's chest. The heartbeat was there, but very faint. He looked at Kris with wide eyes.

    "We're gonna have to turn him over. I need to check if the bullets are still in him or not. Jongdae, come over here and help me," He ordered. Kris nodded, and on the count of three, him, Baekhyun, and Jongdae carefully turned Yixing over. Baekhyun paled even further when he noticed no bullet hole on the back. Rolling him over on his back again, Baekhyun took a shaky breath.

    "I need to take the bullets out. Do you know where hyung keeps his medical supplies? Also, do you have a table where we can do this procedure? Doing this here on the floor will be unsanitary and just make things worse." Baekhyun was surprised at how calm he sounded when on the inside, it felt like his heart was about to beat out of his chest. Kris carefully picked Yixing up, which Sehun and Kai ran to get the supplies. Jongdae and Baekhyun followed Kris, leaving their other friends standing in shock in the room.

    "We need you to hold down his arms and legs, but be careful of his thigh that he was shot in. This could be very painful and we can't have him thrashing around and injuring himself further," Jongdae said looking at the 3 gang members in the room. They nodded and got into position, with Sehun and Kai each holding an arm and Kris holding onto his right leg. Baekhyun and Jongdae put on their gloves and gathered the needed supplies. They silently communicated and decided that Baekhyun would remove the bullets.

    "I'm so sorry, hyung," Baekhyun said giving the unconscious man on the table an apologetic look and digging his fingers in the hole in his stomach. Immediately, Yixing, with his eyes still closed, jerked up and started thrashing around, the ones holding him down surprised at the strength he possessed. Baekhyun tried not to pay attention to the whimpers and pained cries and kept trying to feel around for the bullet. After what felt like forever, his hand came across something solid. "This is gonna hurt, so keep holding him," Baekhyun said sternly, voice cracking. He waited for a few seconds until he made sure their grips were tightened and pulled the bullet out quickly, but carefully. None of them were expecting the anguished scream that left Yixing's mouth. Hands shaking, Baekhyun dropped the bullet into the tray beside him. Jongdae came up to him and put a hand on his shoulder.

    "I'll take it out of his thigh. You need to take a break or leave the room. Didn't that Sehun guy say that Chanyeol was injured also?" At this, Baekhyun's eyes widened. After making sure that his cousin was okay, he left the room, taking Kai and Sehun with him. He trusted Jongdae and knew Yixing was in the right hands.

    "Where's Chanyeol?" He asked the youngest member.

    "Tao took him to his room. Follow me." He led them to the other end of the warehouse and entered a double doored room. Baekhyun didn't even have time to appreciate the grandness of the room before his eyes landed on the figure lying on the bed, blood ruining the bed sheets. Baekhyun rushed over and a gasp escaped his lips, a hand coming up to cover his mouth.
