Chapter 5

    "Guys, I think he's waking up. Baekhyun? Hey Baek, can you hear me?"

    Baekhyun groaned as he opened his eyes, only to shut them again because of the bright light above him. Taking a deep breath, he opened his eyes again, this time slower and looked around, seeing his friends surrounding the bed he was laying on. Wait, bed? When did he get home? What happened? Baekhyun's eyes widened and he shot up in bed as the day's events replayed in his head.

    "Kyungsoo? Where's Kyungsoo? Tell me this was just my dream and my best friend didn't get kidnapped right in front of my eyes while I stood there uselessly?" Baekhyun begged, looking at the others with pleading eyes. They all shared a knowing glance and looked at their younger friend.

    "I'm so sorry, Baek. I wish I could tell you this was just a dream," Junmyeon said softly while sitting down next to him and rubbing circles on his back. Baekhyun just threw his head into his hands and began muttering. The others leaned in to catch was he was saying and were shocked at the words coming out of the smaller's mouth. "My fault, it's all my fault. I should've done something. It's all my fault. I'm a horrible friend. I don't deserve Kyungie or any of them. I should've been the one taken. It's all my fault. My fault my fault my fault my-" His train of words were interrupted when somebody grabbed his shoulders and brought him face to face.

    "Byun Baekhyun, you listen to me, and listen closely. None of this was your fault, okay? Don't argue with me and just listen," Baekhyun shut his mouth immediately. "This was nobody's fault except for those assholes. I don't know what they did what they did and why they chose Kyungsoo, but we're gonna catch them and get Soo back, okay? What if you were kidnapped, huh Baek? Would you want Kyungsoo to go through what you're going through right now? Having a panic attack, fainting, blaming himself for something that he couldn't help?" Baekhyun shook his head silently, eyes cast downwards. "Exactly, so stop blaming yourself Baek. We're gonna get him back. Kyungsoo will be back and annoying us with his usual self in no time," Jongdae assured Baek, pulling him into a hug when he saw tears streaming down the younger's face. Jongdae opened his mouth to say more, but the ringing of Baekhyun's phone interrupted him. Baekhyun pulled back and looked at his phone.

Unknown Caller

"It could be the kidnapper, Baek. Pick it up and put it on speaker," Minseok ordered. Baekhyun nodded and followed the older's instructions, setting the phone in the middle of the bed while everybody crowded around it.

"H-hello?" Baekhyun stuttered into the phone.

"Byun Baekhyun. Nice to hear your voice again," Baekhyun could practically hear the smirk of the deep voice's owner on the other end, which made his blood boil, nervousness and fear completely disappearing.

"Where's my friend? What did you do with him? You better not have touched a hair on his head or I swear-" Baekhyun was interrupted by a deep, booming laughter.

"Or what, cupcake? What are you gonna do, huh? You couldn't even get out of my grip when your friend was being kidnapped so what makes you think you can hurt me?" Chanyeol spoke. Baekhyun felt guilt bubble up in his stomach again. He was about to answer but Luhan beat him to it.

"He's not alone, you asshat. Now answer his question and tell us where our friend is," He growled into the phone.

"Calm down, your precious little friend is just fine. He's not the one I want, anyways, and I'm pretty sure all of you know who my target it," Everybody looked at Baekhyun, who was staring at the phone intensely. "Kyungsoo here was just bait."

"You asshole. If you wanted me, then why didn't you take me?" Baekhyun yelled, face turning red with anger.

"Now, what fun would that be, princess? That's besides the point. Listen up. If you want your friend back, then you're gonna have to come and get him. I'm gonna text you the address and you're gonna meet me here in exactly 2 hours or you can say goodbye to your friend here. Oh, and one more thing. Don't even think about calling the police or I promise you won't see Kyungsoo ever again. You can bring your group of delinquents or come alone, it doesn't matter to me. I hope to see you in one hour, Byun Baekhyun." There was a beep and then silence as Chanyeol hung up. Not even a minute later and there was the message tone, screen showing the address where he was supposed to go. Baekhyun looked up at his friends and began to speak, but before he could even get a word out, Junmyeon spoke up.
