Chapter 9

HARRY'S P.O.V

The floor shook so I grabbed hold of Beka and shielded her from the falling plates. I could feel the plane slanting sideways, I braced myself for what was coming. Everyone fell towards our side of the plane almost in a domino effect. Before we knew it Beka and I were squished up against the wall with about 20 other people. Food everywhere. We were then forced to the other side as gravity chose to change course. I could feel glass making its way through my skin. As painful as it was I couldn't let go of Beka. I needed to make sure she was safe. Wait.

Elena. Where's Elena?

Shit. I looked around to see if I could see any glimpse of Elena. With no luck since everyone was panicking around I made my way up to standing position. I told Beka to stay where she was. I could make out a lying body surround by the teenage girls I talked to before on the other side of the room. Looked like Elena. I wandered over trying to hold myself up in the rocking plane.

“Sorry for the inconvenience, we plan to get on track as soon as possible, we are experiencing turbulence. For now can you all please make your way back to you seats, we have turned the seatbelt lights back on. Thank-You.”

I heard that over the loud speaker and looked back to beka. She was looking worried, she was in full view of Elena's unconscious body. I could see the tears in her eyes creeping down her cheek. I gestured her to go back to the seats. She crawled over.

“Is Elena alright?” She croaked. Already in hysterics. I could see the shock was getting to her. It was getting to me too, I knew that any minute we could plummet to the ground and die. I had to stay strong so I put my best smile on.

“Yes she's fine, I'll carry her back to the seats, now you go.” I said wiping the tears from her perfect face, placing a loose strand of hair behind her ear then kissing her on the cheek, hoping that was enough reassurance. Funnily enough it was returned with a peck on the lips. Fireworks. Focus Harry. I heard an “awwwww” from the teenage girls behind me. Beka got to her feet and stumbled to the exit of the food hall. The teenagers did the same leaving Elena and I alone. I looked down to Elena. She was so peaceful. I'm glad that she wasn't awake to experience this. I picked her up wedding styled and stumbled to the exit. With my luck I accidentally hit her head on the narrow corridors leading up to the economy section. Everyone looked scared. Petrified as they sat in their seats awaiting the reassurance from the pilot. I found our seats where Beka was already strapped in. She stared forward like a zombie. I lay Elena down in the isle seat. Beka automatically turned her head and moved towards her, sat in the middle seat. I squeezed past and made my way to the window seat. Beka looked at Elena with sympathy in her eyes. She looked so depressed that her friend was not with her at the moment.

“Elena?” She croaked, the body didn't respond in anyway.

I rubbed my hand up and down her back. Knowing it was the way my mother always calmed me down. My hand worked its way up to her shoulder, giving her a reassuring squeeze. She turned around, her eyes puffy and red from weeping. I pulled her in for a hug. I understood how sad she was. If that was louis there lying unconscious I would feel the same way. Its hard seeing your best friend in pain. Not responding to your voice. I cupped my hand around the back of her head and pulled her in closer. Her head in the crook of my neck. I kissed the top of her head to say that it was ok, that I was there for her.

“Hello this is your pilot speaking. We have unfortunately had a malfunction with our engine and will have to make an emergency stop in the indian ocean. Do not panic. Although we have lost communication at the moment, we will be able to seek help soon enough.”

I felt my phone vibrate, it was a tweet alert from Lou.

Harry are you Ok? - Lou

Yeah, I'm fine, but Elena's not. How about the others? - Harry
