Flowers in hair. Flowers in beard. Dark leather. Soft floral patterns. Quiet. Loud. Whisper. Scream. We are the ones who live in-between. Hiding under mountains. Living in cracks. All that we are rests on our backs. Butterfly wings but we've got wolf teeth. Smash all the dolls and the ribbons that keep.

Berries on a bush. Tempting. Tempting. Surrounded by thorns. Is the fight worth the prize? They could be poison. Drink deep from the chalice of your youth. Clouds. Waves. Rocks and mountains. We are the ones who live in-between. Our voices unheard. Our faces unseen. Cry. Cry. Laugh like a Queen. We are the ones who live in-between.

Winter on roses. Snow on the sand. Stars in the rivers and lakes off the land. Anguish and blood. Night skies full of peaches. Don't tell your brother. There's knives on the beaches. A child is crying but no one can hear. A mother is laughter but no one is near. Dance. Dance. Dance with the peas. Dance with the flowers alike to the weeds. Dance before sunset. Dance before dawn. The gold of the world is ready and yours. Crystals in caverns. A haystack of bees. We are the ones who live in-between. We live in our castles. Empty and loud. We live through the sunshine. We live in a cloud. But who can now know what's past the screen? We are the ones who live in-between.

Our hammers are glass and our glasses are stone. We live on an ocean of smiles and bone. Breathe. Breathe. The ticking of a clock. In. Out. Tick and tock. Buzzing in chests and pumping through seas. Your father is coming. Don't let him see. The ant and the unicorn don't want to die. The dragon and pelican don't want to fly. We are the ones who live in-between. We live in the darkness. We live in the green. We are the ones who live in-between.
