"We chose you."
"You have powers forgotten long ago, they are not magic. They are simply powers. Like running. It is not magic. It is simply something we have instilled in you."
"Argh!!" Two screams split the silence at the exact same time.
The voice carried on.
" When you use the powers there will be three drawbacks- The first is that it will use up your energy. However, over time, the control, channeling, and direction of your powers will use up less and less energy the more you use them, like exercise."

We never finished our sentence, for our powers broke. We dropped from the sky, landing with a sickening crack on the floor.
