Sitting on that stage beside him, I felt pretty awkward.
It was as if I'd done something wrong.
Maybe he wanted to be alone after what happened during the audition, I don't know. Either that or he just... didn't like me.I didn't want to make a big fuss about the whole situation. After all, we had just met. But some part of me was upset that he turned down my invitation, especially since I'd been so hopeful that we'd finally get the chance to talk.
I guess I stayed in the rose room for a while- after all, there wasn't much more to do. I explored almost every one of its features, including the pictures and posters of old studio artists, and the intricate rose design papered on the walls.
Then, I sat on the stool of the grand piano and took out my phone as my only company. As the screen lit up, I saw the words 'good luck sweetie' written in a bold, white box with 'mom' typed above, and a list of friends who'd also sent me best wishes. A smile spread across my cheeks, and I stared around the rose room once again, dreaming of the future I could pursue at Lost and Found, all the friends I could make, all the songs I could record, all the...
wait a second.
Camouflaged in the darkness at the edge of the stage lay a black, leather guitar case. I made my way over and picked it up, scanning it for a sign of who it belonged to.
Nothing.
I then turned it over in search of a name tag but again, there was nothing.
This time, however, I flipped open the case and inside lay a scarlet-red electric guitar with 'keep rocking' scribbled on the corner in bold handwriting.
It was undeniably familiar.
It was Luke's guitar.He must've left his case here before he went on stage to perform, I thought.
I knew I had to return it as soon as possible, but with him being in such a hurry to leave, I wasn't sure that I could find him in time, or even know where to find him.However, regardless, I made my way through endless amounts of corridors of the studio until I finally found myself in a room full of familiar auditioners - I just hoped I could find the familiar auditioner that I was looking for.
