The man closed the door behind me. I looked out the window to see mom waving as the man started the very long car.
I waved back, although the glass was very dark and she wouldn't be able to see me. I turned and four children caught me by surprise.
"Hey, the name is Jay," one of the boys, one with long hair and a beanie held out his hand to me. Darren scoffed but kept his eyes on a girl with blue hair.
"Sasha," I replied shortly. I didn't shake his hand, he was just touching a dark, smudgy, messy food. I looked out the window, listening to the other kids.
"Rude," Jay whispered and scrunched his nose, clearly taken back by my bluntness.
"Come here, you're looking a little pale," the blue haired girl told the purple haired girl.
"No, stop it....I'm plotting," she replied. I glanced over at them.
"Well, it's not very attractive," the blue haired girl bit a piece of rock candy on a stick, she made a hum of contentment.
"Who are you guys anyways?" I turned to them.
"I'm Evie," the blue haired girl smiled at me. I smiled back, "this is Mal," she put a hand on the purple haired girl's shoulder. Evie giggled, "that's Carlos," she gestured to the other boy. He had curly white hair with dark roots; he wore red, black, and white; and a bunch of cute freckles. Oh. And a LOT of chocolate on his face.
My eyebrow rose instinctively. "Nice crew, Eve," already making a nickname for her. She laughed along with me.
Then the black screen separating the front from the back rolled down and Evie and I gasped.
"Look! It's a trap!" Evie yelled. Next thing I know, I'm squished between Carlos and Darren. We all freaked out, and started screaming and yelling, I'm pretty sure the guy up front was really annoyed.
Then we all stopped screaming once we noticed we were on a golden bridge, I was allowed to breathe again once they all got off me. Except Carlos. He still sat a little close to me.
"It must be magic," Evie scooted closer to the window.
"Hey," Mal tapped a remote on the plastic spectating the seats. "Did this button just open the magic barrier?"
"No," the man looked in the mirror, "this is the button that opens the magic barrier. That one opens my garage, and this button..." he trailed off while pressing a button which closed the window again.
"Nasty," Mal laughed, "I like that guy."
We soon arrived at Auradon Prep and I felt a little sick to my stomach. Not of disgust but of nervousness. What if I fail at doing what I promised my mother?
Jay and Carlos fell out of the car, fighting over a scarf thing. Who knows what it actually was. Evie and Mal got out, stepping over the two. Next was Darren, I followed him out. I stood beside the now standing boys. Carlos passed Jay the scarf thing, and he threw the objects back into the car.
