Days passed and we still had no luck. Finally it was the day we set to go to Rome. Dallas was determined to stay back and keep looking, but we talked him into it. The flight was long and quiet. I didn't watch the movie they offered, I just sat there staring out the window. It was 4 in the morning when the plane landed Alex hailed the taxi and we went to our reserved hotel. I opened the door and I noticed something shiny at the edge of the carpet. I walked over an picked up my locket. "Holy..." Alex put his hand over my mouth, but Dallas finished my sentence.

"Shit!" Alex gave him a death glare and Dallas shrugged. I opened it up and the pictures of my mom and dad in one side and me Alex, and Dallas in the other. I was about to put it on when Dallas slapped it from my hands. It didn't break, but I almost punched him in the face until I saw his horns and fire in his eyes. He looked at me with no expression on his face. "Don't put that on."

"Why-are you so mad?" I said between stutters.

"I'm not mad at all. Why?"

"Your horns and eyes." He looked confused then picked up the locket. I looked at it and saw the green most seeping off of it.

"This mist is strong enough to kill a low rank demon or angel. If a human...unborn puts it on... Snow, this could've killed you."

"Can you get it off?"

"Yeah, but don't touch it in the meantime."

"Why can I see your natural form?" I looked over at Alex and could see his full grey wings and his golden halo. "And yours?"

"You can see mine for the same reason you see his. That thing is pure evil, but you see mine because its a threat."

"You look scary, Dallas." I said to him. He looked down at himself and smiled.

"I know. It's evil, isn't it?"

"Actually your horns don't have enough blood." Alex said. Me and Dallas both looked at him.

"How can you see him?"

"He can probably see me, too." Dallas nodded.

"Huh, what do you know? They are grey." I reached over and I could touch them. His wing jerked back like an actual wing would.

"Did you feel that?" He nodded and looked back at Dallas.

"Can you please find a way to wash it from that bloody toxin?"

"I'm on it, if you don't mind if I take it with me, Snow?"

"Not at all." I answered. He left the room as fast as he could. Alex's wings didn't go away. I sat down on the floor and he did the same.

"You want to pet them, don't you?" He asked. I nodded, still amazed of how beautiful they were in full bloom. I ran my hand over the soft feathers. They felt like the fur of a small kitten. The muscles in them quit jumping after a while and he started to relax. It looked like I was putting him to sleep. "You sleepy?" I asked while he was closing his eyes.

"No, it just feels good. Kind of like a massage. I've never had someone rub my wings." He laid on his stomach and stretched them out. "I don't get to do this much." They were a little smaller than the empty room which was 16 feet long.

"Exactly how long are they?"

"14 feet and 6 inches." He answered with a yawn. I curled up beside him under his wing and started petting it. I heard him lightly snoring. The snores never got much louder than a whisper and it put me at ease. His wing was so warm I could just close my eyes. I felt his wings retract, but didn't pay much attention. When they were gone I fell asleep almost immediately.
