"This is a hoot. An angel and a human cuddling on the floor." A woman's voice said. Her voice was riddled with disgust. The voice woke me and Alex up, but neither of us opened our eyes. I felt Alex's wings stretch back out. I figured the locket was back in the house.

"I didn't invite you here to be a bitch, Natalia. I invited you here to help us." I snuck a peek at her and saw black horns on her head. The horns weren't very scary, but it was signal enough that she was demon.

"I suggest you mind your tone with me. I don't think the boss would take too kind to you being with an angel, Dallas."

"Do you really think he'll be any happier to know you screwed his son and stole the staff. I think he might love the fact about who you sold it to."

"You wouldn't."

"You and I both know I would. Now get to work."

"Don't be so bossy, but I do need them out of my way." She said and the warmth of Alex's wing vanished. I took a peek as Dallas carried him to one of three beanbag chairs on the other side of the room. He came back and lifted me off the ground. "I don't like her." I whispered into his ear.

"Me neither." He whispered back before he sat me down on the chair. Alex opened his eyes and looked at me. He saw I was cold so he wrapped his wing back over me.

"Who is she?" I asked Alex.

"I think she's a high rank demon, but she's not as up in class as Dallas."

"How do they get higher ranks?"

"They're born into it."

"Oh."

"Go back to sleep I'll wake you up when she's gone." I nodded and closed my eyes, but I couldn't sleep because their talking. It wasn't as much Dallas as it was her. Does everyone have to be Jenna Jamison? Yes, I just called her a porn star, but she's practically saying "We can be more than just friends".

"Come on. Don't you think it would be a good idea? Just ditch the angel, kill the hu..." She didn't finish her sentence, but I heard choking. I moved Alex's wing out of my way and looked. Dallas had Natasha's neck in his hand and was holding her over the counter. I could see the flames in his eyes, but I knew it wasn't because of the necklace. "If you ever suggest we kill Snow again, I will rip your head off and shove one of Lucifer's horns into it. Now, get to work, bitch." He was whispering because he thought we were sleeping. Alex was back to snoring and it was still only a whispered snore. Natasha stood up straight and didn't say another word. She put a red powder on it and then a blue powder. I watched as the green mist evaporated. When she was done she handed the necklace to Dallas. "There, it's done, I even removed the chip that was in it, but you really should rethink what I said. What are you going to do if someone finds out? My mouth is sealed, but all a demon would have to do is walk in right now. The angel's wings are spread out over her." I closed my eyes as Dallas looked over at us.

"But any other time he just looks human. I didn't even know he was an angel until two weeks ago."

"They will still think bad of you if they see you with two humans."

"I don't care what they think, but I do want you to get out." I heard the door shut and Dallas walked over to me. He put the necklace around my neck and snapped the clasp shut. I felt his warm body next to mine as he sat beside me. Alex's wings slowly retracted and Dallas' warmth started to cool. I waited a little until I heard Dallas' breathing slow. I stood up and walked over to the window. I was just in time to see the sun start to rise over horizon. It reminded me of when we visited Thailand and we watch the sunrise and the sunset on the last day. I slid a jacket on over my thin shirt and walked outside to the fresh morning breeze.
