Liz woke up later that day, around 11:30. She went into the kitchen and started to make herself a bowl of cereal. Her grandpa had come in from the field and was finishing what was left of his Lunch while her grandma was doing dishes in the sink. When she noticed Liz had entered the kitchen, she said good morning.

"-or should I say afternoon?" She continued, "What time did you get home last night?"

"Not as late as you would think." Liz's grandpa answered for her.

"Why? What happened?" Her grandmother asked.

Grandpa Jones looked at his wife and shook his head. She didn't press further. Liz was still visibly upset that Nate didn't show up at the dance. Her grandfather gave Liz a reassuring smile and got up from the table. He put his empty coffee mug in the sink and walked towards the front door.

"Oh, and someone left a message for you on the machine." He called from the doorway, "It sounds important."

Liz shrugged to herself and continued to eat her Frooty-Tooties. When she was done she washed her bowl and took the home phone to her room.

I'll listen to those after I take a shower. She thought to herself and tossed the phone on the bed.

She went to the bathroom and let the warm water wash over her. All the makeup from last night slowly ran down the drain and she found three more bobby pins still in her hair. When she was done, she dried her hair and put it in a ponytail with her bangs pinned back. She changed into a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. After she changed, she played decided to listen to the messages. A female computerized voice started to speak:

"You have, three, new messages; Message, one, sent, Yesterday, at, 12:00 PM. "

A man's voice came over the receiver. It was confident, clear, and sent a shiver up Liz's back.

"This is a message for Elizabeth Jones only."

       There was a brief pause.

"This is Nicholas J. Fury, Director of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division. You are to be placed under arrest for federal fraudulence and false impersonation. However, do to the nature of your crime, I believe we can come to a compromise. Contact me in within the next 24 hours or there will be consequences." *click*

Liz's stomach dropped as she looked at the clock. Shit! She thought, It's almost 12:30! Time's up!

"Message, two, sent, today, at, 12:01 PM."

       It's the same man's voice.

"Elizabeth Jones, you have failed to comply with the 24 hour limit. I am sending a team of highly trained officers to your location. They will put you in custody and take you to our base of operations. If you resist, they will use force. If you try to escape, they will use force."

       There was a brief pause.

"Please don't make this harder that it needs to be." *click*

Liz's breathing quickened and she started to panic. What does this guy want from me!

"Message, three, sent, today, at, 12:06 PM."

This time it was Tony's voice.

"Hey...ah...listen kid. I just wanted to call and say sorry. I....I didn't know it would turn out like this. Look, I told Fury about you hoping that he would hire you or something but... I guess I was wrong......... Just, ah.....Let me know if you need anything..... I'm here for ya, kid... Good Luck."
