Violet couldn't believe this, she had actually confessed her feelings to Adam, and what was more dreadful was that he disconnected the call without saying anything. That hurt! She tried to resist the tears but she couldn't keep them in for long. ( Yes she was a cry baby, but even you would've cried if the love of your life would've disconnected your call right after you confessed their love to them ).
Lucas ( her elder brother ) came yelling in, 'Violet hon mom asked me to feed the dogs, but since we don't have one..Here you go girl!" Brothers can be a real pain in the ass at times but when he noticed her crying, he went up to her and tried to console her. Though he didn't know what the waterfalls were for, but cross questioning her wouldn't have helped that time.He wiped off her tears and dragged her to the garden where Lily was already waiting for her.
Lily being herself said that, "That asshole is going to pay for what he made you go through." Violet told her not to cause him any harm as falling it wasn't his fault. Though disconnecting the call was a bit rude but it might've happened due to some network problem. She tried to conveince herself with this excuse while her best friend was telling her brother what her baby sister did that day at school.
They all laughed for a while. Everything was back to normal but she couldn't stop thinking about him. Every organ of her body was telling her to not to call him but her heart took over and she called him. Someone picked up the phone but it wasn't Adam. Some lady answered the phone but Violet wasn't sure who that might be.
Violet said, "Hello, Is Adam there?" To that the lady replied, "No dear, he had an accident this afternon on his way home. He is in Escorts Hospital you can meet him there if it's urgent." and with that she disconnected the phone. Adam and her mother did had a lot in common.
Disconnecting the call before listening to what the other person wants to say runs in the family. But this wasn't the time to think about this bullshit. Adam was injured, her Adam was injured. She grabbed her car keys and just when she was about to leave her brother invited himself, like she was going on a party or something. But he 'wanted to meet the guy' was his reason to join her. There was a hell lot of traffic on their way and Lucas's annoying habbit of fidgeting was making her angrier. "Can you stop making that noise?" she yelled at him but he being him irritating self continued making the sound.
When they reached the hospital, she got out of the car and asked her brother to park it. Though he wasn't the one who took her orders but he knew that it was important for her to be there so he said, "Yes mam!" and parked the car.
She rushed to the reception and asked for his room number and sprinted towards his room. She just wanted to make sure that he was okay. When she entered the room she saw his almost lifeless body lying on the bed, and his mother was sobbing for some reason. She wanted to move, to reach him, but her legs wouldn't move. It was like she was paralyzed untill her brother came in and pushed her into the room. She walked towards Adam, and sat close to him, keeping in mind to not to hurt him. She started sobbing, for a moment she thought that it was her fault. She tried to blame it all on herself.
When it came to Adam she was always the one to take the blame, always! That's what love is all about, right? Taking blames for the others in order to avoid fights..respecting each other and making sacrifices to keep the other one happy.
