I looked at myself one last time in the mirror then came out of the bathroom.
"David you ready to go?" I asked him and grabbed my phone and the hotel room key.
"Yes." He simply said and handed me his sippy cup full of apple juice. I sat it on the table and shut the television off that he was watching Cars2 on.
"Put your coat on please, it's chilly out." I told him and he grabbed his coat and put it on.
"Okay now I'm ready." He gave me a smile and grabbed my hand. It was a small gesture but it warmed my heart. We stepped out of the room and down the corridor, into the elevator.
"Are you excited to see your Daddy sing tonight?" I asked him when the elevator doors opened.
"Yeah! Uncle Harry said he was going to play a trick on Niall!!" he said all full of excitement.
"Oh boy, lets see how this goes." I joked and lifted him into the rental care and buckled him into the carseat. I shut his door and got into the drivers seat. I started the car and pulled out of the hotel parking lot and onto the busy road that was going to arena the boys were at tonight.
"Mommy look at that building." David said and I quickly looked at it then focused back on the road.
"Yeah it's really tall isn't it?" I asked him stopping at a red light.
"Really, really tall!" he laughed.
"This light is the longest red light!" I complained and leaned back in my seat.
"Are we going to make it to Daddy's show in time?" he softly asked.
"We might be a little late, but that's alright." I smiled at him through the review mirror. He made a funny face at me then ended up laughing at me. The light switched from red to green and I started to pull through the intersection.
There was this weird sound, almost like metal on metal, then it felt like I was flying. I heard a cracking sound and my skin was pierced by hundreds of sharp cold pieces of glass. I was now sliding against the pavement. I'm not in a car anymore. My cheek is resting on the cold ground. I peel my eyes open the see another car slam in the already beat up car I was just in a few seconds ago.
"Nooo!" I screamed but I didn't hear it. The last thing I remember before the darkness took over me was the flashing of lights and loud sirens.
**Liam's POV**
"Midnight memories! oh oh oh!" we sang in unison while jumping around the stage.
It was only our second song but I was still worried because I haven't seen any sign of Danielle or David. I pulled out my phone and checked the screen. I heard Paul in my ear telling me to put the phone away through my ear pieces. When I saw she hadn't text or called me, I did as Paul said. Zayn gave me a worried look but all I did was shrug.
---HELLO! I'm putting my note in the middle of the update so maybe you guys will actually read this. I am feeling much better, but I am still in the hospital (only for three more days!) I am sorry for such a long wait but to make up for it I am going to update tomorrow too. Continue your reading my lovelys :) ---
I looked off stage left to see if they were backstage, then look right. I didn't see them but I did see Lou was crying and yelling at Paul. His eyes widened then he pulled his head seat back on and talked into the mic. But he was talking into my ear prices.
"Li, turn your mic off and come backstage. Hurry please." I did as I was told and turned my mic off and headed off the the right wing where he and Lou stood. I tore the ear prices out and looked at them in completely confusion.
"What's going? Lou, you okay love?" I placed my hand on her shoulder, which only caused her to cry header. I was starting to get a bit freaked out. "Paul, what the hell is going on?!" I pulled Lou in for hug to help her calm down but she pushed me away.
"It's Dani and David." she choked out wiping at her face to clear it of all the tears. "They got in a accident."
Have you ever stubbed your toe when you walk through a door? Well that's what it felt like but a million times worse. And the pain wasn't in my foot, it was in my heart.
"But they are okay? Right? It was just a small finder bender, an they aren't hurt. Right?!" I frantically looked between the two. But they only stared back at me.
"No Liam." Lou softly said.
"Then why are we standing here!?" I ripped the wires from the ear prices out from under my shirt and threw them onto the floor. "Come on! Don't just stand there like idiots! We need to get them!" I yelled and they both jolted to life again. Lou stayed behind as me and Paul ran down the corridors and out of metal doors. We jumped into the car and he sped on the way to the hospital.
____
"Stop! Stop! Stop the car!" I yelled at Paul when I saw the emergency door to the hospital. I flew the door opened and ran inside.
"Where is Danielle?" I asked the lady at the deal.
"What's the patients name sir?" she calmly asked. How can she be so calm at a time like this!
"Danielle Peazer and David Payne." I said and mentally thanked Dani for legally having Davids's last name mine. It is going to make things easier for me to see them now.
"What is your relationship?" she asked typing on her computer.
"Boyfriend and adoptive father." I said getting frustrated that this is taking way to long.
"I'm sorry sir but you can't see them at this moment. Please take a seat in the waiting room." She dryly said and motioned with her hand to the waiting room.
"Are you bullshitting me?!? You asked me all those stupid ass questions only to tell me I can't see them?!" I yelled and wanted to jump of the desk and push her out of the way.
"Liam calm down!" I heard Paul yell from behind me. He wrapped one hand around my upper arm to hold me back.
"No! I need to see them! Please! I need to know they are okay!" I yelled to him and the lady at the desk.
"Liam, is it?" I heard a deep, firm voice from behind me. I stopped my struggling and turned around. A doctor stood with a surgical mask on. Like he just got done looking at a patient....
"Yes." I heavily breathed out. He pulled the mask down so it hung at his neck.
"David's father?" he asked sticking his hand out. I shook it while nodding yes.
"Okay, well I was the doctor assigned to David's case and," he took a pause to take a deep breath in. "I'm sorry Mr. Payne, but David is gone. We did all that we could. I'm sorry."
