Magic Or Tragic?

"Big brother we'll be together forever right?" Coraline asked questionably. Dre pats her head softly as he looks in her beautiful blue eyes.

"Of course Cora! We'll go on adventures together and fight evil monsters. Nobody will ever break our impenetrable bond." Dre replies smiling showing his little pearly whites.

"But what happens when I have to be wed? Will we still be together?" Coraline asks sadly.

"I think we can figure something out with you're husband to be. He will probably say we can adventure as long as he comes so we can have a lot more fun! Also Coraline I don't want you thinking about this stuff right now.

I want you to always be happy so please don't think of sad things." Dre says both enthusiastically and seriously. Coraline just nods putting on a fake smile to try to make her brother happy. Why can't I just tell him? He's my brother after all.

But that's exactly the reason why I can't. A new found disappointment is evident in my facial expression. Dre hugs me in a comforting manner as he pats my head softly. I liked when Dre did this. It made me feel loved.

Our parents never hugged me or Dre for as long as I can remember. I always felt like I was a burden. Never good enough for them. But with Dre he hugged me and took care of me even when our parents didn't. I start to draw what our adventures would be like. I imagined we would fight griffons and dragons with ten heads. But in all my pictures I drew this girl. I never knew why but I felt she was important. Like she was the key to unlock everything in our way.

2 Years Later

"Hey big brother. Want to go on an adventure?" Coraline asks with excitement in her eyes.

"Of course but what do you plan to do?" Dre asks skeptically raising his eyebrow. With a swift sigh of defeat she answers obstinately.

"I wanted to take you to fight a dragon and get it's tooth." Coraline responded wistfully.

"Wow I would so love to- wait why it's tooth?" Dre presses Coraline questioning her incentive.

"Because teeth are cool?" Coraline rebuttals looking at Dre with the puppy dog eyes. Dre sighs in defeat. Dre grab their cloaks and wands and head out. Dre and Coraline walked for hours until they reached this large grassy area with a mossy green cave filled with eggs and a humongous black dragon with black scales glistening in the night sky.

"I don't think we should do this anymore Coraline. It looks scary." Dre says shakily. Coraline just rolls her eyes and runs towards the dragon full speed ahead. As Coraline is running she steps on a branch lying on the ground that makes a quiet "crack" sound. Just enough for the dragon to awaken.  Coraline filled her lungs with air but just as she was about to scream Dre clasped his hands on her mouth.

"Coraline, be quiet." Dre whispers softly. I
Coraline nods her head while looking back at the dragon. Coraline could have sworn she saw his eye move.

"Coraline. What a lovely name."

"Dre did you hear that?"

"No but we must stay quiet so get to the dragon okay?" I slowly nod my head. Not wanting to ruin his excitement I go along with it.

"Coraline I wouldn't go along with him if I were you. It could get violent for a little girl like you. In fact you shouldn't have come here in the first place. Be a good little girl and go on so I can have my meal. I wouldn't want to hurt you." The mysterious being tells Coraline.

"Who are you!?" I ask looking around vigorously. Sweat rolling down my face.

Hey guys what's it been? Almost two months. Look guys I don't have a real reason why I haven't been updating... I really just felt like I didn't have time. I KNOW I don't have a real big explanation and I am only mildly satisfied with this chapter. I'm soo sorry for the lack of updates! ;~;
