My One And Only

Chapter 1

Naleen

    This is the most beautiful I place i have ever been to. It was just magical with all its features, the birds sang and its music were very lovely and pleasant. Then all of the sudden I got distracted by one beautiful flower it was the most beautiful flower i had ever seen in this garden. I wanted to reach out to it but i couldn't cause it was too far to reach. Then i heard a voice, the most horrible voice i have ever heard in my entire life.

    "Ahhhhh!" " Can't you see i was sleeping Emmy?" "but you said I should wake you up for your important appointment remember?" Dah!
  "Oh my God" I kissed Emmy's cheek and ran to the shower. That appointment was the most important thing in my life i couldn't miss it for nothing in this world because i wanted to apply for a job as a personal assistant in one of the biggest Hotel in New York City.

  Actually, the new owner of the AA(African American)Hotel is, Noah Jason. He had become a very important business man since the last time i saw him,Which was actually in the magazine. He was usually classified as  flirt not very serious when it came to women but in work, he was very different, authoritative and disciplined.

  The first time i went to the Hotel, i was told i should book an appointment then i will meet the new CEO himself because he was the one who wanted a personal assistant an had requested he will personally interview me I wondered "WHY".

    So i had finished with my break fast, kissed my Mom, and i said bye to Emmy who in return said she wanted "sugar balls" when i come home. My mom wished me "good luck" which i really needed.

  I took the bus, it was 9:30am and my appointment was at 10:00am. I had a 15mins drive. The building was at one street away from the bus stop. When i arrived the  secretary's office it was exactly 9:55am. At exactly 10:00am i heard my name for my interview.

  It was cool out so i had my jacket but as soon as i heard my name Miss Naleen Parker my heart started beating so fast, i started sweating like i was running a race and i became so nervous. "Miss Naleen Parker"... I went inside. The office was humongous it was twice as big as our house,"ok just kidding but it was huge... " then i saw a man seated behind a large wooden black table with a very soft, large comfortable chair which i could probably get lost while sitting in it.

The office was painted grey and beige. There was a fridge, laptop on his table, TV screen and a very soft carpet around his chair and table.

   "Miss Parker" I heard my name once more...  "Yes sir!" "You may have a seat."

   He had blue lovable eyes with black hairs. A black tuxedo suit and white shirt very tall and handsome. "You look better in person than picture" then i saw a smirk on his face, then i immediately realize that i was thinking aloud. I held my mouth and apologized but he find it charming when he said "really",  thanks. Immediately I fled my cheeks turn read.

   "I have already seen your CV and Resume so i will just go straight to the point. "What makes you different".

  "Huh!" I was puzzled "yes what makes you different" he repeated.

  "In my working area I just graduated and I have...." then he cut my sentence and said "I know but I want to know why you think i will hire you as my PA"
  "Sir, All am sure of is that I will do my very best to be the best of Assistants in the world and I will be always available".
"Sure"
   "Yes Sure" i replied
"Then you are hired so you can start on Monday."

    It was just like the best melody I have ever heard. I was beyond happy... "Are you sure sir"
"Yes he replied. On Monday  I will show you your office and you will be set...  Also you have to arrange a timetable for me and schedule all my meetings. I need you to be effective. Is that understood? "Sure Sir"
"You may go."

Still standing there i was puzzled... Then i heard him ask "Anything else?"
"No sir but i was wondering if there isn't a contract to sign?
Then he looked at me with a lot of seriousness and said, " You will sign your contract on Monday with all the condition and terms.

"OK thank you sir bye" and i left.
When i exited the building i saw the door man who winked at me with a nice smile. 
He was a man in his fifty's and was very charming he looked like my dad.

My dad i thought. He was very handsome and caring. He was very family oriented and will always take us on outing every Sunday after Church ... But life was very cruel with us. My father died after he fought with cancer...

As i exited the building and was thinking of my dad, i decided to pay him a visits at his new home... I brought him flowers and told him the good news i believe he was very happy for me. After that i went home...

"Sugar Balls" thanks sis so how was your interview? Asked Emmy

I made a sad face then My Mom who was all smiles turn her face away as sadness came on her way but was fast wiped away when i said "Sorry Emmy but as from Monday your sister here present will be go to work.."

My mom was very happy she hugged me tightly and I found it difficult to breath.. Then she decided to bake a cake.

Emmy is a very talkative lil girl she's 10 years old and when my dad died, she was the most affected because she had a selective mutism. She stayed silent for five years... Its been six years ago that my dad left us... She was very close to him. But thank God she recovered from her illness a year ago now she talks and talks.

  So after the little celebration we when to bed. I was in my room went i received a text message. It was an unknown number when i read it, it said " Don't forget you have to be in the office by 8 am on Monday."
