To my almost disappointment, summer was almost at its end. Before I knew it, it was the morning of last day of the holidays, the last day at the burrow, the last day before we left for hogwarts. The normal excitement had settled inside of me but part of me was dreading going back. Back to the place where we had fought for our lives. Back to the place where so many had died. Somehow, I knew that everyone felt the same.
It was currently some stupid hour in the morning, around half one, and I was Sat at the foot of Harry's bunk, the two of us just chatting. Neither of us could sleep at all. "I don't even know if I want to go back, mione" said harry "how can we go back to the place where we saw friends and people we care about die. How can we sit in the same hall, where so many people lay dead, so many wonderful people"? A stray tear fell down his face and I moved closer to him, brushing it lightly from his cheek. "we'll be ok, we'll find a way to cope" I reassured him, although my words were for me as well. I took his hands and squeezed them softly. "we'll be fine" I said gently.
"we won't though" said harry and I looked at him, questioningly. "no, we'll get involved in some super dangerous and crazy adventure leaving us lucky to be alive at the end of the year" he said.
"that is actually a very accurate prediction, that is what seems to happen ever year. You should take over from trelawny" I replied, smiling slightly. In spite of everything, harry laughed. "we should probably try to get some sleep" I commented and he nodded. "yeah, I think you're right 'mione, as always" he said, smiling.
"night harry" I called.
"goodnight 'mione, love you" he replied.
"you really must stop saying that, harry" I laughed "what would ginny say".
"she wouldn't say anything anymore" he said "we broke up". I sat back down on the edge of his bed. "maybe it's for the best, harry" I said "you were both arguing a lot over the stupidest of things. It's probably just a bit too soon, for both of you". He nodded and wriggled down under his duvet. "goodnight" he whispered.
"goodnight" I replied, going back to my own bed.
Before I knew it, the sun was up and I was being woken up by ginny. "gin, please, it's the last day, just let me sleep for a bit" I groaned.
"it's OK, 'mione" commented Ella "I said the exact same thing". Over the two weeks we had been spending together, harry, Ron and I had become good friends with Ella, edme and annikah. Ginny shook me again and I sighed, getting up. "fine, I'm up" I yawned. I waited for ginny to go and wake harry before lying back down and closing my eyes. As soon as she had woken harry, she came back to me. "did you think you could get away with that, hermione" asked the redhead as harry crept back into his bunk. I laughed. "what's so funny" asked ginny and I simply pointed at harry, causing her to go and wake harry again. We continued like this for about half an hour, and by this time, Ron, Luna, Ella, annikah and edme had joined in. Exasperated, ginny finally gave in and let us sleep for another hour, until eight o'clock.
"ok, it's eight o'clock. Get up" yelled ginny. I glanced at my watch. "actually it's one minute to" I said, rolling over in my bunk. Ginny groaned but waited a minute nonetheless. "ok, now it's eight o'clock" exclaimed ginny and I sat up. "now, I'll get up" I said.
Quickly, I threw on some clothes and brushed my hair. It least wanted to start the day looking somewhat presentable. Then, I met the other girls plus Harry and Ron. "nice shoes, ron" laughed edme, staring at his rainbow coloured ankle boots. "ginny chose them" scowled Ron, obviously not liking his sister's choice in footwear. "I think they're nice" commented Luna dreamily.
"ummm.... Luna..... The leggings?" questioned ginny "it's not Christmas".
"never mind" replied Luna "let's get some breakfast".
