Chapter 3

MATE

That was the last thing I wanted. I DONT DESERVE HIM.

Without thinking I shifted into my wolf. I decided to run the opposite way. I ran so fast, I didn't think he had enough time to register what was happening.
The farther I went, I heard a faint sound of a howl.

My mate, he was hurt. I  heard the sound of his pain in his howl. My wolf was whimpering, she wanted to comfort him as well.

"I'm sorry.. You deserve someone better than me"

I ran faster and faster while I cried silently. I didn't want to risk turning around because I didn't deserve him. I'm broken and he doesn't deserve being with a murder. I killed my parents and I don't want him losing someone because of me.

I didn't know how long or how far I ran. Probaby about a day non-stop. I knew if I stopped to rest, I would collapse in exhaustion. I didn't want to at least not anytime soon. My mind was set on getting as far as possible. So I continued running for what seemed like hours.

Suddenly I heard a few sticks cracking behind me, I wasn't sure if I wanted to look back. I decided against it and ran even faster.

Suddenly I felt like the whole world around me was turning. All I remember was feeling the sudden pain on my shoulder and I heard a few cracking noises and felt more pain on my legs. Darkness suddenly came.

"See I told you not to do that!"

"Look it was the only way to stop her, who knows what she was planning to do, I didn't want to take a chance"

"Ugh, seriously nick, she could of died, she broke her ribs and her legs! She has been in coma for 3 months for gosh sakes! Next time, jump in front instead of attacking"

All these noises, can't they shut up. My head started really hurting and I felt so sore everywhere.

"Shh vicky, look she's waking up. Get the pack doctor please"

I opened my eyes and saw a guy with a muscular build, looking straight at me with his blue eyes.

"Hey, how are you doing? You were in coma for 3 months"

" Where am I?"

"Your at the pack hospital"

"Pack?"

"Yeah, sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Nick, I'm betta for my pack which that would be the Dark Sun Wolf Pack"

"My name is Carla, how long have I've been here? Why am is my body hurting? What happened? All I remember is running away and suddenly the whole world went dark"

"Yeah..... Sorry. That would be because of me. We were doing our daily pack checks and sensed an intruder, which was you. I sort of went all wolf and attacked you, so that you would get knocked out. You've been out for 3 months"

"3 months?!"

"Yeah..."

It's been 3 months! That was so crazy, I wondered if I was even being looked for. My mate... The last time I saw him was exactly 3 months ago. Was he looking for me? I doubted, he probably found somebody else and replaced me. He deserved better anyways.

"Hello I'm Dr.Dement, I am the pack doctor, how are you feeling?"

I was snapped out of my thoughts.

"Light headed and pain, all over my body"

"Since you've been in coma for awhile, that is normal bit it should go away in a few hours. As for you pain, your wolf has been healing slowly but now that your awake you will heal faster"

"When can I leave?"

"Give it a day or 2 depending on your progress, you will be out by then. If you need anything else let me know. Also what is your name? We need to update your information since no one knows you"

"It is carla, thank you"

Dr. Derment left  the room, I turned my head around and saw a girl around my age, she looked pretty with long brown hair and brown eyes. She must be the alpha, I can sense it.

"Hi! I would like to apologize for my betta's reckless decision that almost cost your life. I am Alpha Vicky of the Dark Sun Wolf Pack"

"Vicky I said I'm sorry, I apologized to carla already"

She looked at nick rolled her eyes and sticked her tongue out at him.

I let out a giggle because it looked funny

"Nice to meet you, my name is Carla"

"Hi Carla, can I ask why you were running into our territory?"

"Sorry I was just running through, I didn't realize I was in wolf territory. I tried to go through unmarked land to avoid intruding"

" I see, may I ask why you were running? You looked like you were running away from something"

"Yeah.. I ran away from my pack"

"Which park are you from? And why were you running away?"

" I am from the Windstrike Pack, I umm... I rather not talk about it"

"Wow! The Windstrike Pack?! They are the most strongest pack in the country and also well known for their righteous attitude"

"Yeah they are the best"

Vicky looked at me with a confused look. She must of sense my sorrow. I didn't want to think about  mom, dad, the accident and my mate.

"I'm tired, I think I will rest for awhile"

"Oh okay, let me know if you need anything. Also you are free to stay if you'd like"

"Have a nice rest, and I'm sorry for what I did, I apologize, I'll make it up to you later"

I smiled at them before they both walked out and closed the door. I felt tired and closed my eyes.
