The Night of the Particle Accelerator Explosion

Eleven year old, Aleandra stared out the car window as her parents parked the car at the side of the road. The rain beat hard against the windows. Lightning flickered and thunder roared as the family stared over the city.

Their family had driven up into the mountains where they were able to look over all of Central City to watch the Particle Accelerator.

"Wow isn't this a great view." Her mother said. The bright lights of the city reflecting in her eyes.

"Ya. It's amazing..." Aleandra answered still staring out the window at Star Labs below them.

Suddenly Aleandra's father spun around in the front seat and scowled at his daughter, "You speak when your spoken to miss!" Her father hissed at Aleandra.

"But..."

"Shut up!"

Aleandra sat back in her seat with a large frown upon her face. Her father was never the nicest to her ever. But her mother was a bit better. Aleandra obviously liked her mother better.

After a long silence in the car there was a very loud bang and a large bright beam shot up into the sky from Star Labs. Aleandra quickly changed her focus and out to the window.

"Wow!" Aleandra exclaimed as she watched the glorious sight.

"And this is where our entire lives change." Her father said with a large smile.

Aleandra's mother nodded as she agreed with her husband.

Then there was a loud boom and crash as the beam grew brighter. Suddenly the car began to rattle.

"What the he-" Aleandra's father began but suddenly a large bolt of lightning struck only feet away from their car.

Aleandra screamed as she saw more lightning strike near their car. Suddenly their was a large burst of dark matter that exploded from the accelerator. As she saw it rushing straight towards their car Aleandra quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and swung open the car door. She leaped from the car and tumbled to the dirt.

"Mom!" She screamed as she saw her parents struggling to do the same.

"Aleandra!!" Her mother screamed from inside the car.

"Mom!" Aleandra yelled back.

"Run! Now!" Her her mother yelled back.

Aleandra slowly backed away from the car, watching in horror at what use to be a beautiful sight. She then turned around and ran down the dirt road. Tears stung her eyes as she sprinted down the road in the rain. There was a load boom that shook the entire mountain and it sent Aleandra tumbling to the mud.

She lifted her head from the mud and wiped her face. She spun her head around and saw the dark matter coming straight for her. Another bolt of lightning struck the dirt only inches away from Aleandra. She could feel the electricity rush through her entire body. She closed her eyes and cried as everything fell black when the dark matter made contact with her.

Aleandra's body slid across the mud as the dark matter passed over her and all of Central City.

The storm raged over the city. That night many people were affected and many people were killed. Including Aleandra's parents and many others. But it also changed people, forever...
